Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 23

Evil can often look like ignorance and stupidity at first glance.

In the way that a certain bumbling Austrian Corporal who happened to be popular to a degree was thought to pose no danger due to being unsophisticated and thus manageable by the Establishment.

Yeah, Godwin'ed. So sue me.

Not sure how relevant this is, but the attempt to block the book publication came from Robert Trump (Trump's brother).

It is certainly possible that Trump is actually the one behind the attempted publication ban, but given Trump's eagerness to show how "tough" he is, I'm surprised he wasn't front and center in this. (Maybe even he knows the lawsuit would fail and didn't want to embarrass himself.)

I'd ask when that ever stopped him, but the question really has no relevance, because all signs point to him being utterly incapable of embarrassment.

Trump Tweets

Deaths from the China Virus are down 39%, while our great testing program continues to lead the World, by FAR! Why isn’t the Fake News reporting that Deaths are way down? It is only because they are, indeed, FAKE NEWS!

BREAKING NEWS: The Mortality Rate for the China Virus in the U.S. is just about the LOWEST IN THE WORLD! Also, Deaths in the U.S. are way down, a tenfold decrease since the Pandemic height (and, our Economy is coming back strong!).

“Treatment with hydroxychloroquine cut the death rate significantly in sick patients hospitalized with COVID-19 – and without heart-related side-effects, according to a new study published by Henry Ford Health System. In a large-scale retrospective analysis...

...of 2,541 patients hospitalized between March 10 and May 2, 2020 across the system’s six hospitals, the study found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine alone died compared to 26.4% not treated with hydroxychloroquine.” @HenryFordNews

In a way, a rather depressing one I admit, it's rather impressive how many blatant lies he can pack into a single tweet.

That may not be his very best, but it must come close.

Minor correction: Schultz was a Sergeant, not a Corporal.

There was that one time at the United Nations, where he said something and the assembly laughed at him. He actually looked sheepish and said "Well, I didn't expect that reaction." I'd love to see more of that.

You think that is a meaningless distinction? Or are you just making a funny?

Complete derail: I never heard anyone else except my mother use the phrase "make a funny," so I presumed it was only for old women in babushkas in the old country (even though she wasn't really one of them).

Statue of Frederick Douglass Torn Down in Rochester https://breitbart.com/politics/2020/07/05/statue-of-frederick-douglass-torn-down-in-rochester/ via @BreitbartNews.
This shows that these anarchists have no bounds!

Does he think BLM supporters have torn it down?

Why, yes. Yes, he does. In fact the police don't know who tore down the statue and I'm willing to bet any amount that whoever did it was not connected to BLM or any group Trump is implying are the 'anarchists'. He is such a moron.

Maybe.

We're talking about Trump, though. A more relevant assessment would likely be that he doesn't actually care who did it, so long as he can twist it to his advantage. Whether he actually believes a lot of the crap he spouts or not is much harder to tell in cases like this.

So just in case we don't have enough books about the Trumps (between Mary Trump and Douchy Walrus), we have yet another one in the pipeline...

From: MSN
...Stephanie Winston Wolkoff—who was previously seen by the First Lady as a loyal confidant, and had helped plan President Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration in Washington, DC—will release a tell-all Melania and Me on September 1st.

Wolkoff had been an advisor (and supposedly friend) to Melanie, and had worked on Trump's inauguration. However, things eventually went south, with accusations from Trump that she was personally profiting, counter-accusations that the Trumps didn't want to spend the money raised for the inauguration and that they "threw her under the bus", and an investigation into expenses where Wolkoff testified.

The rats are all jumping ship and a tell-all book makes a good cushion of money to float away on.

On the bright side, maybe that's an omen Trump is on the way out.

Earlier in this thread, I suggested that one way President Trump and the GOP would attempt to engineer a victory would be to make a grand announcement close to the election that a vaccine had been found and that as a result, President Trump had personally saved the US from Coronavirus. This would give him a significant bump in popularity. <snip>
The template for such a tactic was set in 2016. Then Trump/GOP/Fox were endlessly screaming about the caravans of people trying to cross the southern USA border. INVASION!!! CRISIS!!!

USA media - especially CNN - had reporters down there giving daily (hourly?) updates. It was a 24/7 sickening display of manipulation by Trump, stoking fears of The Browns.

The day after the election: Nothing. And I mean literally the next day you were hard pressed to find reports of the INVASION!! Sadly, as far as I remember, none of the major media outlets even admitted that they got played, much less apologized.

So I have no doubt that what you predict will happen. My only hope is that the media won't be complete suckers this time around.

Keep draining that swamp...

From: Yahoo
Forty lobbyists with ties to President Donald Trump helped clients secure more than $10 billion in federal coronavirus aid, among them five former administration officials whose work potentially violates Trump's own ethics policy, according to a report.

At other times, this might be seen as a significant scandal. With Trump it barely warrants a mention.

And you can bet the farm that Barr's DoJ couldn't care less.

The rats are all jumping ship.
Yeah yeah yeah Trump was going to run out of underlings to protect him "any day" now a month into this Presidency.
Yes, some of us do consider it a little strange that he still manages to find supporters to work for him, considering 1) how obvious that he is an incompetent scam artist (so Trump's faults taint all who are associated with him), and 2) that for Trump, loyalty is a one-way street, and you will be thrown under the bus when you are no longer useful.
