As much as I'd love to interpret it as a crushing spiritual blow, I do feel it's necessary to remember that Trump is an old man in poor physical shape. It's not unreasonable that it could be simple physical exhaustion after a long day.
I think there's a bit of people seeing what they want to see, a dejected and broken man. His supporters can spin it as humanizing vulnerability to a vicious fake press attack.

Finally, a statistic he might not be able to ignore, or fudge in public.

I for one hope he continues to believe his own stats ("96% APPROVAL IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!" -- soon to be 97%, I guess) and refuse to believe the polls put out be CNN and of all places, Fox News, whose recent poll generally agreed with CNN's. The "fake" one that CNN got sued by Trump for.

I hope he believes his own stats until Election Day, when he will turn to his staff (like today!) incredulous and say, "What the hell happened?" Then hell, he can blame anybody all he wants.

Until I saw that latest posted picture, I thought the other end would have been just over his shoulder. But no, it goes completely around his neck and matches the length of the more visible side, as you can just see the tail sticking out.

I'd say your estimate is correct.

This is a great example of why people need context. A higher percentage of a group that is diminishing is not a good thing.

The Democrat House wants to pass a Bill this week that will destroy our police. Republican Congressmen & Congresswomen will hopefully fight hard to defeat it. We must protect and cherish our police, they keep us safe!

Yeah, that's how I got my stim simoleons. When I first tried it I was doing it wrong for $2 in fees per try. So it cost me six smackers for three tries to not get any money out.

Years ago I was being payed with a PayTM card. When the job ended I had like two bucks left in the account and it cost 3 per transaction. I left it there and eventually they sent me a letter saying they were going to charge me $15 for a monthly maintenance fee or I could get a check for a $25 check fee. I wrote 'em back saying just keep the two dollars as that's all you'll get from me. They sent me a check for the $2 with no fee.

Yeah, from the bits I watched I saw a distinct difference in the crowd from past events. Bored, yawning, indifferent and preoccupied some occasionally mustering up a pseudo shout, chant, clap or sign jostle. I was hard put to find the genuinely enthusiastic and ecstatic attendees that permeated previous events.
You could hardly blame them for being bored. That interminable Boeing anecdote was masterclass on how to perform a self indulgent ramble about a topic without ever engaging the audience.

An ol' acquaintance of my claimed that the reason less than 7K were in attendance was because many were not let in due to social distancing. She failed to provide any evidence of this other than "many people are posting that they can't get in."

You're forgetting that vulnerability is a bad thing to Trump and his supporters. He's a weak man pretending to be strong, which means that any demonstration or admission of weakness or needing help is anathema. That's why he insists that he knows more about everything than everyone else and everyone admires his superiority. It's impossible for him to admit that he's in over his head and has been for a long time.

Last night at the Tulsa rally, Eric T called protesters "animals". Way to go, Eric! Daddy must be proud of you.

His father has managed to changed the definition of "protester" to mean "looter". Were I a more cynical man I could believe that this was yet another step towards tyranny.

Just another example of T's ability to divide and pit Americans against each other. He is a master stoker of hate. "Divider in Chief" is an accurate title for him.

I continue to be amazed that Trump's older sons are even dumber than he is.

Hasn't actually sued, just sent a stupid C&D letter. And 97% of a shrinking party is not necessarily a good thing.

Yeah. I originally didn't see the other side and thought it was just over his shoulder, but no, both ends are about the same. I pulled the belt out of my bathrobe and hung it around my neck. It hung down about the same as Trump's tie, and is longer than my arm-span.

That'd be his first actual tweet in about 48 hours.

I didn't get a payment at all. Probably because we made too much last year. I'm surprised the program was that sensible.

He only changed it in the minds of those in his cult. The vast majority of people understand that over 95% of protesters are peaceful and not doing any criminal activity.

Yeah look at the images. They weren't practicing social distancing. They were in fact doing the opposite. Pushing people together to make it look crowded.

HRC wasn't wrong when she said

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

NBC News is reporting trump is pissed!
President Donald Trump is "furious" at the "underwhelming" crowd at his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday evening, a major disappointment for what had been expected to be a raucous return to the campaign trail after three months off because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to multiple people close to the White House. The president was fuming at his top political aides Saturday even before the rally began after his campaign revealed that six members of the advance team on the ground in Tulsa had tested positive for COVID-19, including Secret Service personnel, a person familiar with the discussions said.

Trump asked those around him why the information was exposed and expressed annoyance that the coverage ahead of his mega-rally was dominated by the revelation. NBC News link

Is that surprising? Everything bad is someone else's fault. Anything and I mean anything and everything good he takes credit for it.

Maybe even his supporters are sick of listening to a self centered narcissist talking about why he is so great.

I cannot fathom spending four years learning leadership skills at the Army’s Military Academy and Then having your graduation speaker be the walking antithesis of leadership

As the fictional Col Jessup said in the courtroom scene: “We use words like ‘honor’, ‘code’, ‘loyalty’. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline.”

I keep coming back to the words of the fictional Col Jessup and courtroom monologue.

Jack Nicholson delivers them perfectly:
“ We use words like "honor", "code", "loyalty". We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline.”

I was talking to my wife about this aspect of TDS. I pointed out to her that Trump started the whole method of engaging political opponents. From the start he sets out to bully, humiliate, denigrate and ridicule his opponents. He complains when he gets that back.

That was how he some the nomination. His opponents tried to set nominal standards of decency but Trump was having none of that and caught them off guard.

How can it be his fault that those 6 got Covid? After all, they'd have gotten it even if they hadn't gone to Tulsa to prepare for his ego rally. Right?

Right?

At the rally, he called Covid-19 "kung flu." I sort of understand why people support him, but at some point don't you have to revert to being an adult?
