That sucks! When are the results expected?

I was told three to five days, but the results came through in two, this morning. Covid-19 "not detected." Which was the overwhelmingly likely outcome. Only between 2 and 3 percent of swab tests in MA are positive these days, and while the symptoms superficially fit the Covid guidelines (fever, fatigue, and cough!) it didn't really. The cough seemed just like a flare-up of a chronic GERD-related phlegmy cough in the back of my throat that I've had on and off for months.

That said, yes it did suck. Potentially bad implications for my wife, families, workplaces and so forth made it way more stressful than I'd have expected.

I doubt I'll ever know what my 48-hour fever early this week actually was. Under normal circumstances it wouldn't even have been worth a sick day. Bio-crud from some bug bite? Otherwise asymptomatic UTI? Probably not the usual airborne stuff, with all the Covid precautions going on.

I'm glad to hear that. And I take it your fever is gone?

There will, of course, be massive social pressure among the Trump faithful not to mask or distance.

That's been taking shape for weeks already. "Masks will tell us who the Democrats are" and similar posturing.

Is that true? He is being prescribed Adderall?

plenty who worked with him on The Apprentice said he took it all the time.

There is a Twitter pic of him with a drawer full of prescription drugs in the background.

His sniffles are very typical of someone who has burned out his nostrils from snorting drugs.

One of the tell-all books from early in the Trump Presidency told of the White House Physician bringing Trump "nasal sprays" all the time.

And yes, this is all circumstantial, but it would be entirely in line with everything we know about Trump, including his obvious insomnia.

My recollection of the hilighted is that it was a drawer full of UK Sudafed. Off to Google!

Trump doing Rallies is very risky IMO:

there is the obvious risk of superspreaders at these events, but Trump constitution is an even bigger gamble.
We've seen that he isn't in great shape, might have taken an unwise medication (HCQ), usually amps himself up on Adderall (and else) before such an event.
It is quite possible that he will suffer some medical emergency while preaching to his congregation.

I feel bad for the (real) news reporters who must attend these events. I'll be curious to see if the Foxxers will be wearing masks.

Here's what Trump said Wednesday when asked if he is apprehensive about holding a rally in Tulsa:

"No," Trump said, "because if you look, the numbers are very minuscule compared to what it was. It's dying out. By the way, we're doing very well in vaccines and therapeutics."

What a moron. Can someone explain to him that viruses don't do that?

[Rubs hands together in glee]

Trumpers are lining up ahead of time in droves with no masks to get get a seat in the rally. Let the infection spread ahead of time, prime the pump.

Only two days now, very hard for Trump to back out. The OK governor trying last ditch effort to get the rally moved to a safer outdoor site. Trump won't go for that. He's bragging 1 million people have requested tickets online. He knows a lot of that is troll activity. If he has a bigger venue it will expose all those empty seats.

OK might have a low rate of virus at the moment, but infected people will be there from out of state to seed the event. And then there is this: Tulsa Health Department: Tulsa County Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Cases have shot up in June.
