Please the moral legitimacy was fake to begin with, remember they had no issue with torturing and killing detainees, and we are supposed to hold them in some moral esteem? Those are just comforting lies they tell each other, when push comes to shove they get they job done, be that torturing those in their custody or busting heads.

Look into Patton and such attacking the Bonus Army protesters in 1932. Hell it was right by the white house. These guys need to learn the history of the US Army better.

Did he also claim that he didn't call dealing with Protests as "dominating the battlespace"?
He is a disgrace.
I'm willing to cut a military guy a little slack when he's realized he'd been used and is trying to backpedal. The real test will come when Trump gives him a public loyalty test to clear an area so he can get a hamberder or something trivial like that. Which Trump WILL do, and soon, that's how tinpot dictators work.

In a couple of days he'll be safely curled up, snuggling at his master's feet.

"Fall on your sword"

For me, the worst thing about the events of the past few days is that right now this country needs leadership and trump can't supply it. In times like this, most American presidents have gone on the air in primetime to address the nation and try and calm the waters and reassure the American people. (A good example would be the statement George W. Bush released the other day.)

Instead, trump has only offered tweets and they're all of a hyper-partisan nature. He's not trying to reassure the American people. He's using this situation to campaign for his reelection. Expressing himself in a very crude and obnoxious way. It truly is a nightmare.

I watched him 'lead' the USFL football league into oblivion. I'm really worried about what lies ahead. :(

Looking at the Gallup polls going all the way back to the election (I just eyeball scanned the page, it's possible I missed a spike here or there) I don't see his approval rating among Republican Voters (not even just generic Republicans) ever going above 94 (and I only saw it reach that once), usually staying in the mid-80s, and even dropping into the high 70s.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/203198/presidential-approval-ratings-donald-trump.aspx

Absolutely. And the result in Indiana is consistent with an 88% approval or so.

He's the one claiming the 96 nonsense.

Not only that, but he is totally clueless rearding what leadership in a crisis would even mean. So he goes for a photo op, because that's what he's seen Putin do - and with Trump, appearance is everything because it's the only thing.

More ridiculous gaslighting from President Trump:

sure he was .......

yeah, he was just going down for a minute and so, to conserve electricity, they turned off all the lights in the White House.

I realize that the appropriate response at this point is "How stupid does he actually think the American people are?" but the problem is, yeah, enough are stupid enough to fall for it.

Trump cannot reassure the people as he has no empathy and no ability to fake empathy while following a script. When following the teleprompter he comes across as awkward as he gun turrets around. The only time he seems animated and engaged is when he is off the script and attacking perceived enemies.

He's not a leader, he's a "boss." He doesn't know squat about leadership, all he has ever done in his life is delegate others to come up with ideas and get things done.

Give it a rest! Big Daddy is no coward! He went to the bunker for an "inspection".

<laughing dogs>
