The rats are beginning to leave the ship. The worse your ratings, the more will realize there will come a day when they will be called to answer for their allegiance. As the election gets closer, this could avalanche.

I wonder how many influential Republicans have become suspiciously silent, lately?

Donny isn't a useful idiot any longer, he is a liability. A loose cannon. People are beginning to wonder what they will say when he's gone.

Since twitter are refusing to take down the Trumps' spreading of the conspiracy theory about Joe Scarborough being a murderer, people have invented a new one - that Trump strangled his PA, Carolyn Gombell, to death in 2000 because he got her pregnant and she threatened to tell the papers. The idea is to force twitter to a) take them down and thereby admit to hypocrisy, or b) take down Trump's tweets.

I imagine it'll all come to nothing, but it's a noble effort.

That should have been made clear in the original post as it does change things. The highlighted can be, as was by me et al., interpreted as a new conspiracy theory was invented and not that a non-existent victim was invented.

With this revelation, then I say go for it. Give Trump a taste of his own medicine.

That would have gone right over the head of the woman I was talking about. When I asked her why, by FAR, African Americans register as Democrats her claim was that they are afraid of violence by Dems if they register as Republicans. Ya cain't fix stupid.

The Trumptrash on the prime time shows will continue being is stooges but I suspect he's lost the news division forever. Fox reporters have sided with the rest of the White Correspondents Association over his attacks on the press in the past. The Scarborough lie might be the last straw for them.
 
Here Trump shows he's nicely following the pattern of all other populists, like Erdogan, Maduro, Trump, etc
The media must allow me to say everything I want when I want and if they don't I will use the state to enforce that!

I wonder how any GOP member can still claim they are in favour of a 'small government that does not intrude into businesses'

The same way they still claim to be the party of fiscal responsibility, family values, and of Lincoln: by speaking out of both sides of their mouth.
 
Trump is visiting the manned spacex launch this evening. I wonder if he'll have an anecdote involving rocket scientists calling him sir and congratulating him on his understanding of gas aerodynamics.

Trump will only lose the Fox & Friends crew once corporate decides there is more money in selling faux outrage during a Biden administration then in supporting Trump.

They can, but there will be a limit to how hard they want to try. Trunk trying (or even threatening) to suppress private enterprises that don't play to is flute may well be the straw.

Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen.

True to form, most Congressional GOP are avoiding criticizing Trump's unfounded attacks on Joe Scarborough. Only Romney, Cheney and Kinzinger have said Trump should stop tweeting about a murder conspiracy theory. The rest have either side-stepped answering when asked about it (McCarthy) or refuse to comment. Even something as egregious as Trump's unfounded and pathetic attacks on Scarborough cannot compel these spineless sycophants to contradict Dear Leader.
