Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 22

These people are so unprincipled it's disgusting. Their ideology is entirely built on maintaining power through fear and propaganda (any Democrat left of Hitler is an evil commie, socialist, America hating anti-christ terrorist) and not actual principled beliefs. I've noticed a trend of right wingers actively avoiding criticism of literally ANY Republican no matter how vile or egregious their misdeeds but the moment a Democrat gaffes they become principled puritanical pearl clutchers.

Exactly.

A dozen women accuse the president of unwanted sexual advances and the President is caught on tape suggesting that women should be grabbed by the *****. A single accusation is made against Biden and the collective response of the GOP is to look for fainting couches as they hold the back of their hands to their foreheads.

U.S. deaths from the H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic = 12,469.

U.S. deaths from the Coronavirus Pandemic = 99,498 and climbing.

Trump is clearly better. What return to greatness is he talking about ? US is clearly the best. Maybe if the whole third world unites, they might come close in few weeks. But now ? The best !

Just a comparison of Trump’s days golfing vs Obama’s. No surprise Trump has spent much more time golfing than Obama did by this point in their terms of office, and has spent much more taxpayer money to do so. Also not surprising: after frequently attacking Obama spending time golfing, Trump promised to not golf as President.

Not only does this disgusting behavior by Trump tear open old wounds, but one of his earlier tweets added something like "...maybe an affair?"

Not only does her family have to relive the tragedy, her husband is forced to watch Trump tell the world that his wife might have been cheating on him, with no evidence to support that suggestion.

Twitter needs to do something about this one.

Also no other city even put in a bid to host the convention. What city is going to decide now to bid on it?
Maybe they need to get creative.

Is Jeffrey Epstein's island available? Or maybe they can hold it on Greenland (as part of the trump takeover plan).

Is there someone in the Whitehouse who writes these? It's appropriately Trumpian stream of consciousness, but, (random capitals aside) correctly spelled and grammatically correct (including 'whom') so I can't believe his tiny fingers mashed it out.

Strange job, sitting there trying to think 'What would the president say if he was coherent enough?'

He just says it out loud and someone writes it down and tweets it for him.

Her husband agrees.

President Trump’s continued promotion of a baseless conspiracy theory about the 2001 death of former Joe Scarborough staffer Lori Klausutis has “perverted” her memory “for perceived political gain,” her husband, Timothy J. Klausutis, wrote in a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. In the letter, Klausutis pleaded with Dorsey to delete Trump’s tweets.

“These conspiracy theorists, including most recently the President of the United States, continue to spread their bile and misinformation on your platform disparaging the memory of my wife and our marriage,” Klausutis wrote in a letter dated last week and published in a Kara Swisher column in the New York Times this week. “My request is simple: Please delete these tweets.”

A whackjob conspiracy theory is what the Coward-in-Chief is wasting his time with during a pandemic that has killed 100,000 Americans.

Trump Tweets

For all of the political hacks out there, if I hadn’t done my job well, & early, we would have lost 1 1/2 to 2 Million People, as opposed to the 100,000 plus that looks like will be the number. That’s 15 to 20 times more than we will lose. I shut down entry from China very early!

....One person lost to this invisible virus is too much, it should have been stopped at its source, China, but I acted very quickly, and made the right decisions. Many of the current political complainers thought, at the time, that I was moving far to fast, like Crazy Nancy!

Nah, he's not nuts.

Donald Trump pledges to "take a strong look" at Libel Laws [nytimes]

“We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws, so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about someone, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts,” Mr. Trump said during a public portion of a cabinet meeting in the White House.

The president added, “Our current libel laws are a sham and a disgrace and do not represent American values or American fairness.”

Of note, Jack Posebiec was one of the ghouls that harassed Seth Rich's family, and he's on the President's favorite TV network - One America News.

The jaw-dropping thing is that he is the person who libels the most people possible day in day out - if the libel laws were loosened up he'd be doing nothing but appearing in court for libeling people.

That's if he loosened them in any fair sense. No, he wants to loosen the libel laws so that only he and his friends benefit.

The author of that piece is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Doesn't have to be. We can make fun of the idiocy all we want and people with an agenda like CE will keep throwing crap like that all over the place.

If it can trick people, all the better, but it's more about reinforcing bias, distracting from reality, and muddying the waters.

Lamb did not vote for Pelosi for speaker. That is a lie.

Shocking. Really, Trump's so honest that he's only been caught in more than 18,000 lies during his Presidency.

Jaw dropping but in fact part of his standard operating procedure. Falsely accuse others of what you routinely do every day.

Well, at least we can be assured that all those conservatives who support freedom of speech, even by Nazis and KKK members, will speak up to oppose such a loosening... Given their dedication to the right of people to slur and demean others.

I understand that according to a Supreme Court decision a sitting President is not subject to civil law actions (i.e. suits) arising from their official duties.

Does any poster here know if they can be sued for actions outside of their official duties? I thought they can be (i.e. if they ram their car into a pedestrian). Would liable by tweet fit within their official duties?

Can they be sued after they leave office for actions taken during their term?

There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The Governor of California is sending Ballots to millions of people, anyone.....

....living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there, will get one. That will be followed up with professionals telling all of these people, many of whom have never even thought of voting before, how, and for whom, to vote. This will be a Rigged Election. No way!

This belongs in the Trump is mentally ill thread. He really is worried about losing.

Nope, No lawsuits. Trump's tweets have already been declared to be official WH policy some time ago.

No idea.
