Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 22

Much of the junk I see here quoted as being tweeted by Trump isn’t written by trump. I don’t know or care what a “retweet” signifies in terms of belief but it’s a lot less insight than his own words would give us.

So? If he retweets something, you can hang every sin of the person he's retweeting on him. Who cares if it's fair?

Sean Parnell is an American Hero. Connor Lamm has proven to be an American fraud, and a puppet for Crazy Nancy Pelosi. He said he would NOT vote for her for Speaker, and did. Will kill 2A. Voted to impeach (on nothing). A TOTAL & COMPLETE Sean Parnell Endorsement!

I have zero interest in moving the Republican National Convention to Doral in Miami, as falsely reported by the Fake News @nytimes in order to stir up trouble. Ballroom is not nearly big enough & would like to stay in N.C., whose gov. doesn’t even know if he can let people in?

I know that wherever the dumb **** holds his convention, there will be a spike here in the DC metro area afterwards. Trumptrash are the the worst offenders at social distancing and wearing masks. I don't care if their kind die (as if they had value) but they could infect real Americans.

Maybe evangelicals are saving that for after Trump either loses the next election or the White House is won by the Democrats....

Before Trump: "The president must be Moral. Clinton must be impeached for his affair!"

During Trump: "It doesn't matter if the president has cheated on his wife or has never been to church ."

After Trump: "We were tricked by Satan! We now think the president must be a godly person after all, and will now proceed to attack the Democrats because we don't think the president is Christian enough."

The Christians that I find defending him online seem to think he is a church-going man.

Part of the reason I find them so ******* delusional.

ETA
then again, I cannot for the life of me distinguish between Russian trolls and true believers so maybe I’m just being duped by foreigners.

So back to this question of whether "social media has a left-wing bias."
With the Overton window now pushed so hard up against the right wing that it is deep into the wingnut region, that's how social media appears to those claiming overwhelming left-wing bias. Everyone is a commie but them.

Of course, the same can be said about extreme left-wingers too.

That's the very sad part, as we out here see it. Stay safe.

Yeah, that's pretty silly. But Jesus coming back to life was totally real. People revisited the tomb, and his body wasn't there! How else can you explain that? Tide goes in, tide goes out.

Good read: Schrödinger's President

Caitlin Johnstone said:
[...] What’s unusual about Trump is that there are multiple contradictory narratives running about him at the same time, within the same political factions. His own base is able to hold the belief that Trump is a brilliant strategic mastermind who is commanding a covert counter-coup to overthrow the Deep State, for example, while simultaneously excusing all the many, many establishment capitulations that he makes as being beyond his control. Much like Schrödinger’s proverbial pet Trump exists for them in two mutually contradictory states at once: a skillful hero who is taking down the Deep State, and a hapless victim who can’t control what happens in his own administration because it’s all being controlled by the Deep State.

On the other side of the imaginary partisan divide, Democrats spent years advancing the mutually contradictory narratives that Trump is at once (A) idiotic, (B) mentally ill, and (C) running a covert operation to sabotage America in the interests of Russia–but cleverly evading detection under intense scrutiny.

None of these narratives have anything to do with reality, yet they consume an immense amount of oxygen in US political discourse while Trump continues and expands the many depraved agendas of his predecessors.

Trump is not a populist champion of the little guy, nor a closet Nazi working to establish a white ethnostate, nor a Kremlin asset, but is in fact nothing other a miserable rich man from a miserable rich family who did what it takes to get elected to the presidency of a racist, corrupt, bloodthirsty empire and remain there for a full term. Everything else is narrative which is wholly divorced from reality. [...]

Not contradictory at all.

The State Department tells President Trump not to congratulate Putin on his election win and President Trump does it anyway. The president’s critics argue about which of those three possibilities (Or combination of these three possibilities) best explains this inexplicable behavior.

The CIA tells President Trump to not share specific intelligence information with the Russians because the Russians will be able to infer who gave us the info and what that nation’s intelligence capabilities are. The president shares it anyway and the president’s critics argue about which of those three possibilities (or combination of these three possibilities) best explains this inexplicable behavior.

The president announces that President Obama is 100% Responsible for the invasion of Crimea and that Putin should share no blame. The president’s critics yadda yadda.

The president insists that Russia should be let back into the G7. Yadda yadda

The president spends 3 hours alone with Putin with no American taking notes. Yadda yadda.

The president announces that there was no Russian interference in the 2016 election despite a half dozen different US intelligence agencies documenting it. Yadda yadda

The president announces that he is absolutely confident that Putin did not interfere in 2016 because the president looked Putin in the eye as Putin denied it. Yadda yadda

We can go on and on if you like.

Nobody claimed Trump was running a clever Russian operation. Rather, he runs a Russia friendly government, with minimal efforts to hold Putin back. Putin could take Ukraine and Trump would let him.

Russia via Deutsche bank is a major lender to Trump hotel business.

Dismantling NATO is part of Trump second term.

These people are so unprincipled it's disgusting. Their ideology is entirely built on maintaining power through fear and propaganda (any Democrat left of Hitler is an evil commie, socialist, America hating anti-christ terrorist) and not actual principled beliefs. I've noticed a trend of right wingers actively avoiding criticism of literally ANY Republican no matter how vile or egregious their misdeeds but the moment a Democrat gaffes they become principled puritanical pearl clutchers.

Joe Biden’s handling of the H1N1 Swine Flu was a complete and total disaster. Even polls on the matter were terrible!

There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The Governor of California is sending Ballots to millions of people, anyone.....

....living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there, will get one. That will be followed up with professionals telling all of these people, many of whom have never even thought of voting before, how, and for whom, to vote. This will be a Rigged Election. No way!

With the proviso that, by "fair number of Republicans," we're talking about the rank-and-file, I would agree that a lot, even most of them, are people with intelligence and integrity- I just don't think it's necessary to demonize people with whom I simply don't agree on politics; even aside from the utility of it, it's painting with too broad a brush to call them stupid or mean, the same sort of brush they use when they paint liberals as evil commies (or whatever). As for the intelligence of McConnell and others- my questions are predicated on that assumption, it's the integrity I doubt.

That would be the 10% of registered republicans who do not have a high opinion of Trumps leadership? Where are these people, and can they have integrity if they refuse to show it?

Is there someone in the Whitehouse who writes these? It's appropriately Trumpian stream of consciousness, but, (random capitals aside) correctly spelled and grammatically correct (including 'whom') so I can't believe his tiny fingers mashed it out.

Strange job, sitting there trying to think 'What would the president say if he was coherent enough?'
