Yes, but it's become shorthand for something a lot more sinister than that. It started as the "manosphere" realizing the "reality" of how evil that feminism was during gamergate. Now it includes embracing a right-leaning spectrum from men's rights advocates to nazis.

For many, the red pill is just the first step in a longer journey. Being “redpilled” means shifting away from one set of beliefs to another set of (antithetical) beliefs. This can be as basic as a Democrat becoming a Republican, or as radical as someone coming to believe that Jews control the world or that feminism is destroying the West.

In extremist terms, being redpilled means you have bought into at least one of the anti-Semitic, racist and conspiratorial tropes of the far-right movement. For many, it is the first tentative step down the rabbit hole toward radicalization.

In MRA (Men’s Rights Activists) and incel circles, the red pill is extremely specific and serves as an introduction to a particularly dystopian and misogynistic world view.

I kind of picture Trump as an exposed nerve ending, extended upward and twitching in the air currents, reacting to any and all stimuli instantly and at the basest, most primitive, instinctual level.

Its a real shame what has happened to Musk.

For a while he seemed to have a good reputation... between SpaceX doing some cool space work, and Tesla pushing some of the boundaries with the electric car. Sure, some of his ideas where a bit "out there", but it didn't seem to impact the beneficial stuff he was doing. He even appeared to be pretty moderate politically (supporting the Paris climate agreement).

But now, between his support for 'opening up' the economy and pro-Trump comments, he seems to be frittering away much of the good will that he had.

Hopefully it is just some sort of political stunt, and if/when saner people take over in Washington he will go back to doing some of the good stuff he had been doing.

Trump claims he's taking hydroxychloroquine, he claims the White House doctor signed off on him taking it.

Jeff Mason of Reuters asked. "What is the evidence that hydroxychloroquine has a preventative impact?"
Trump said "Are you ready? Here's my evidence, I get a lot of positive calls about it, what do you have to lose?"

“I’m taking it on the advice of my exceptional, terrific person, who happened to be also very a regular guy doctor, Dr. Dennison believe me”

"Never heard of him. But they asked me to terminate him" Trump says he was asked to fire the State Department inspector general by Mike Pompeo. He then confused what he's talking about and says, "I did suggest in pretty much all cases you get rid of the attorney generals"

Jeff Mason "You said you don't know the IG you just fired. What was he doing that was treating you unfairly?"

TRUMP, "I don't know. I don't anything about him. I don't know."

Reporter, "Pompeo was reportedly under investigation by the IG you fired. Are you concerned he requested the firing to avoid an investigation?"

TRUMP, "I don't know anything about it. I don't think it sounds, like that important"

It's hard to believe Trump has actually taken it. But, one can hope.
 
Trump says that he’s been taking hydroxychloroquine for weeks. This drug has known psychotic side-effect, right?
 
In the last ten minutes Donald Trump has said that all inspector generals should be fired because "they may be Obama people," revealed that he is taking hydroxychloroquine and that the doctors who warn against it should be ignored because they are probably Democrats

More likely scenario is his doctors have been giving him a little white starch placebo pill and just telling him it is hydroxychloroquine. Trump is dumb as a rock. He would be the perfect test patient if you had no ethics.
 
The most likely scenario is that Trump is lying about taking this drug so that he doesn’t have to back off his initial statements promoting how beneficial the drug is. He would rather have people risk getting sick from taking this drug than having to admit he was wrong.

But the problem is that he doesn't take enough. He should take much, much more, I mean, just to be on the safe side. And mix it up with some bleach.

I'll combine your scenario with mine.

Doctors wrote "HYDROXY" on a box of aspirin using a Sharpie...to keep the moron happy.

Reckon he is taking it. Light doses perhaps.Prescription, isn’t it? His doctor will be involved.


ETA: seems to be saying that he is self medicating and WH doctor didn’t recommend.

Barr Dismisses Trump’s Claim That Russia Inquiry Was an Obama Plot

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr dismissed President Trump’s attempts to rebrand the Russia investigation as a criminal plot engineered by former President Barack Obama, saying on Monday that he expected no charges against either Mr. Obama or former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. as a result of an investigation into how their administration handled Russian election interference.

“As long as I’m attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends,” Mr. Barr said during a news conference announcing that the gunman in last year’s shooting at Florida military base had links to Al Qaeda.

Mr. Barr said that John H. Durham, the federal prosecutor investigating how law enforcement and intelligence officials confronted Russia’s operations to meddle in the 2016 election, was examining some aspects of the case as potential crimes but that he was focused on other people, not Mr. Obama or Mr. Biden.

“I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Mr. Barr said. “Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”

Mr. Barr’s comments served as an unmistakable rebuttal to escalating efforts by Mr. Trump and his allies to reframe the Russia investigation as a plot to sabotage his presidency by Mr. Obama, Mr. Biden and officials in their administration. Mr. Trump has targeted Mr. Obama in a way that no modern sitting president has, accusing his predecessor of unspecified crimes under a vague but politically charged catchphrase, “Obamagate.”

Of course, considering Barr's behavior in this and other cases, this is totally ******* rich of him.
