Obama didn’t mention Trump. What made you think he was referring to Trump?

Obama said "the folks in charge", not "Trump". It's the whole federal team he was referring to.

So if Trump decides to respond as if it is about him personally then he is accepting he is "in charge" of the COVID response. And the facts are showing that his personal response was utterly random, chaotic and almost totally self-centered. In which case it is him versus Obama, and that's no contest.

But if Trump decides it doesn't refer to him personally then he will respond by condemning those around him while trying to pretend he had nothing to do with the mess. Trump has no problem about throwing his own under any passing buses for any reason at all or none.

But more likely he will try to snark back at Obama for being an uppity ******.

I suspect it will be the latter.

I think he's pretending to be quoting someone, ie. someone said Trump did something bigly good and he's quoting them saying it was "Trump". Hard to know how he thinks (or doesn't) sometimes.

It's not going to survive, as the nation I grew up in, for even one more year. After Trump subverts the November elections it's all over.

That's what I mean. We're in uncharted waters. It began with candidate trump casting doubt on the integrity of our electoral process in 2016, claiming (with no evidence) the voting was going to be rigged. An incredibly irresponsible thing to say. So far as I know, that was totally unprecedented for a presidential candidate to say. I have the feeling George Washington would have slapped trump in the face.

I'm gladly volunteering to step in and represent George. In fact, I'll pay for the privilege.

However keep note that these folks were all arrested by cops with sidearms.

Most of these guys are all posture : “lookit me an’ mah gun!” but will likely fold when there are actual consequences. Sadly, a small percentage will try something stupid later on.

They remind me of gorillas who thump their chests and make fake charges all to prove how big and tough they are. In reality, the vast majority of it is all for show.
