One of my strong irritants is the absence of the press pointing out the absolute obvious when they report Trump’s ravings and the actions of his followers. His strong endorsement of armed protestors invading state legislatures and urging negotiations? Okay, is he advocating the same for the White House? Isn’t that such a logical conclusion to at least be worth a question in a press conference? And certainly at least some of the discussions of Biden’s possible sexual misconduct would legitimately mention Trump’s issues in this regard (wherein he has actually been an advocate of grabbing women by the genitals, as well as actual accusations by a number of women). I’m not attempting an argument “both sides do it” but instead how on earth can Trump’s supporters go on the attack on this issue without their hypocrisy being noted and the history of this issue in the presidential campaign being more broadly put forward.

I liked Dilbert because I'm an engineer. I think Adams started going off the rails when he no longer had a day job and started getting rich. But he's always had some weird ideas. He believes in "affirmations"; pretty much the same as "The Secret".

There is more than ample evidence that fear of hypocrisy is an emotion that elected Republicans have excised from the party years ago.

If you pointed out the hypocrisy to the Kool-Aid drinkers, they would look at you with an expression of surprise, condescension, and impatience before explaining that “President Trump is doing everything right and the Democratic governors are doing everything wrong - only an idiot would protest the White House.” And if you tried to explain why special pleading is a logical fallacy, things would get a lot worse very quickly.

I forgot one of the most important parts.
Many would be grinning as they said, “Fine with me, why don’t you liberals bring some guns down the Pennsylvania Avenue? Then we’ll see how many guns the counter-protestors bring down to your dainty little whine-party.“

Obviously he saw some report on the ("real"!) news about some sort of boaters that did something that he really liked. No need for context or explanation -- he figures everyone is aware of whatever is in his head and must have seen all his positive news.

Which is why he get so angry when the real news (note the difference) doesn't report on it all the time.
