The Trump Presidency: Part 21

I was under the impression that it was more about believing and focusing on it than saying. I admit to never having given it the time for serious review, though, after figuring that it was a play on confirmation bias and behavior modification.

I'm going to disagree here, too. I don't buy that. Rather, I think that he doesn't want to be questioned about the things that he screwed up horribly (and, in some cases, probably intentionally screwed up) and be forced into a position where he would have to admit wrongdoing and thus is acting like that to try to shut down the question without admitting wrongdoing. It's a tactic, not even close to a belief.

After sleeping on it, I am a bit hesitant to follow this theory.

Given that he lies or denies reality a few times every week, that would mean President Trump considers himself a major ****-up. That would mean he messes up so frequently, that the country would be better off flipping a coin than letting him decide things.

I suspect that if it were merely a tactic, then he would say that he has done everything right. But that’s not the language that he uses - he describes himself as having done everything perfectly. If there were an infallible lie detector and we hooked President Trump up, I posit that the results would be that he is not lying when he says everything has been done perfectly.

After all, we know from leaks that when his people show him hard data indicating that he messed up, he doesn’t start brainstorming cover stories, he turns to his aides and screams, “you’re data is wrong; your bringing me bad data!”
[Aside: I think it is appropriate to include misspellings when summarizing conversations POTUS45 has with his staff.]

Also, if it were just a tactic, why waste it on things every experienced president (or presidential hopeful] would consider tiny (e.g. Two Corinthians, Alabama residents should be prepared)?

Lastly, if it is a tactic he has used thousands of times since taking office, why is he still so bad at it? A clever 12-year-old could come up with better lies than: I never said that (even though you have me on videotape saying those exact words) I never said that.

I'm surprised Michigan allows firearms in government buildings. Even AZ doesn't do that.
.....

Apparently so.
It is legal in Michigan to carry a firearm in public "as long as the person is carrying the firearm with lawful intent and the firearm is not concealed," according to the state police.

Note that the governor rebuked demonstrators for not wearing masks, but not for brandishing long guns.

With temperatures hitting 104F this week, the protesters kind of evaporated.

Yes, That's the great summer heat we've been hoping would kill the virus.

Trigger warning: you will see way more of Trump's skin that you would ever want to. Even though the depiction is probably way better than he looks in reality :p .

Oh, and I'll be sharing that. Trumpkins will be screaming "but gina travel ban", but the rest of us can recognise this for the brilliant work of art it is.

Lemme guess; he found a note written in black Sharpie?
In this case, more like black Shar-Pei.

Cryin Chuck Schumer, compared to what other Senators have brought home to their states, has brought very little back to N.Y. A totally overrated loser, the one thing he has given them is SALT. He never even called me to stop it. No wonder Cuomo & most others can’t stand him. AOC!

I have seen this before, where Trump just ends a tweet with "AOC!" - no verb or object, just the letters. Sad!

Concast (@NBCNews) and Fake News @CNN are going out of their way to say GREAT things about China. They are Chinese puppets who want to do business there. They use USA airwaves to help China. The Enemy of the People!

China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!

Just finished a very good conversation with President Xi of China. Discussed in great detail the CoronaVirus that is ravaging large parts of our Planet. China has been through much & has developed a strong understanding of the Virus. We are working closely together. Much respect!

I have done more for farmers and ranchers than any President in history, and it has been my honor in doing so!

Well, he's not wrong. Last year the USDA doled out $19 billion in aid in order to offset the losses due to the tariff war, much of it without any congressional oversight.

Why? Because that is what he has done his whole life.
