The Trump Presidency: Part 21

I guess the GOP has decided to not be the party of personal responsibility. :o

They never were, of course, though they did and do try to use that as just one of their messaging claims. "Personal responsibility" was always put into practice along the lines of "We'll fight hard for the right of wealthy, well-connected entities to screw you over without consequence or recourse" and dog whistling.

I was under the impression that it was more about believing and focusing on it than saying. I admit to never having given it the time for serious review, though, after figuring that it was a play on confirmation bias and behavior modification.

Yes, I was playing a little fast and loose with the actual techniques. But for many folks repeating it over and over is how they believe and focus on their wish.

I'm going to disagree here, too. I don't buy that. Rather, I think that he doesn't want to be questioned about the things that he screwed up horribly (and, in some cases, probably intentionally screwed up) and be forced into a position where he would have to admit wrongdoing and thus is acting like that to try to shut down the question without admitting wrongdoing. It's a tactic, not even close to a belief.

I guess it could be the way you describe. I don’t have tangible evidence to support my supposition. I do predict that Pres. Trump’s mind will be a topic of study for years and years.
I hope to live long enough for the Presidential Records Act to open the administration’s records to FOIA requests - I think that is 5 years after the end of the administration.

Let's pretend like Trump isn't lying and the virus was in a lab and got out. We know Trump is lying but we'll pretend this is one time he told the truth. Who cares? We saw what happened in Wuhan in January. The dumb **** didn't order a partial and ineffective travel ban on China until after all the major airlines had stopped servicing China. When we were watching what happened in Italy, what did he do? How much PPE did the stupid bitch buy? Did he dust off the "Global Pandemic Playbook"? Where was his pandemic task force before March 14th?

To poke at this... it's probably worth acknowledging the Trump-Fox nonsense connection. Trump isn't lying about Fox pushing the lab theory. He is lying about Fox saying anything worthy of serious consideration. Oh, and Trump apparently is pointedly undercutting the Intelligence community, which had directly issued a "no evidence of that" statement hours before.

In related news to that, though...

Trump's team is pressuring U.S. intelligence to 'find' evidence for anti-China conspiracy theory

Yup. They're trying to demand validation of right-wing BS, again.

I'm not following your logic at all here. I'd expect he'd take a lot more disaffected Republican voters than Democratic voters.

Now some of the disaffected Bernie Bros will have what to them is an outlet for a protest vote that won't cause them too many qualms. And there are the 'undecideds' who don't want another old guy (facing accusations of sexual assault that will be relentlessly repeated) at the helm.

And what percentage of the deplorables will actually pull another lever than the one for their defender of the White Way? Enough to counter those for whom.yet another product of "the system" is unpalatable?

I admit to not applying much logic here. But how the frack can one in this current maelstrom of chaos and division? With too many idiotic, uneducated Americans being oh so receptive to the manipulative machinations of enemies without and traitors within? I fear for the potential of another close call, and any injection of yet another potentially confounding element could spell calamity.

Hey Joe, last year US emissions dropped by 2.1% largely because of Republican-led efforts to deregulate natural gas, a cleaner burning fuel.
Last week, Democrats actually demanded a moratorium on building gas pipelines.
I suppose y’all prefer importing dirty fuel from Russia?

Not the first time he's retweeted her either. She had a few retweets in January and February, prompting the same reaction from various journalists. IIRC the conclusion was that she's part of a circle of conservatives who constantly retweet each other, thus amplifying their messages.

The CCP’s Military-Civil Fusion strategy blurs the distinction between Chinese military & civilian end-users. I commend the Administration for tightening U.S. export-control regs to prevent American technology from being diverted to the Chinese military. https://federalregister.gov/agencies/indus

Cryin’ Chuck Schumer was on a late night show using a false talking point over & over again. “We don’t have enough testing ,” he would repeat, when he knows we have done a great job on Testing, just like we have on Ventilators and everything else. He lied, gave NY SALT. Run AOC!

I have done more for farmers and ranchers than any President in history, and it has been my honor in doing so!

We’ve spent 8 trillion dollars in the Middle East and we’re not fixing our roads.

The Governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire. These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.

Cryin Chuck Schumer, compared to what other Senators have brought home to their states, has brought very little back to N.Y. A totally overrated loser, the one thing he has given them is SALT. He never even called me to stop it. No wonder Cuomo & most others can’t stand him. AOC!

So now he's advocating surrendering to gun-toting thugs. So much "winning"!
