The Trump Presidency: Part 20

Certainly not: slapped, not punched. Only a slap will deliver the satisfying sound, the lingering sting, the reddened impact mark. There is satisfaction to the deliverer and shame to the receiver in slapping that you just don't get with punching. A punch is something you do to an equal who is a threat. A slap is something you do to the despicable as punishment. It's not about hatred, it's about contempt.
While I regret sending the thread in this direction, I think you're on the right track here.

Kushner has always aggravated me. This is typical:

This whackjob -- to borrow a term from Robert De Niro! -- has a major role in battling the coronavirus pandemic? Seriously? Below are quotes from an opinion piece by columnist Michelle Goldberg that appeared in the New York Times:

Only the best!
Can some of our Trumpers please step up and defend/explain Kushner? A lousy job, yes, but someone has to do it.

I won't do that, but I have no reason to believe he's actually incontinent, so ahead of the POTUS on that rather basic standard.

Well, this is just weird:
Schumer spoke to Trump twice Thursday afternoon, according to the Democratic leader's office. After hearing his position, Trump informed Schumer that he was in the process of sending a "very nasty letter" but would try to stop the letter from being sent, Schumer's office said. Trump said that he would apologize if he was unable to prevent the letter from going out, Schumer's office said.

You needed to have also added a “... that he didn’t know and never met, he meets a lot of people could have been in a meeting with him but never noticed, Fake News Hoax. Biggest percentage change in unemployment figures ever!

We hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks. “P Act” all the way. Big surprise to many in government as to what they were doing - will have a big price to pay!

Just in case anyone, like me, was wondering what this was about:

Coronavirus: Trump asks medical supply firm 3M to stop selling N95 respirators to Canada

U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the Minnesota-based company to produce and sell as many medical-grade masks as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says it needs. He invoked the Defence Production Act in order to speed up the distribution of masks.

“The administration also requested that 3M cease exporting respirators that we currently manufacture in the United States to the Canadian and Latin American markets,” a statement from the company read.

Dear Trump and Everyone Who Voted for Him:

**** you all right in the ear.

Signed, Your Former Most Reliable Allies And Friends, The Canadians.

“We're at war with COVID-19, we're at war with terrorists, and we are at war with the drug cartels . . . We're the United States military and we will defend our country." —General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs

We are fighting the Coronavirus on every possible front—and we will achieve total victory with the help of the American people.

In the UK the Army has been helping to build emergency hospitals for the NHS, one would hope General Milley has something similar in mind rather than just making asinine comments to boost Trump's ego.

The pandemic is going to do major damage to the world economy and we may be in for a bad hurricane season, possibly exacerbated by climate change.
Hate to sound so pessimistic, but it's all starting to happen, just like scientists warned. With a malignant wannabe dictator as U.S. president.

Do you believe in karma? :(

Florida will have some of It’s highest tides of the last decade in late Oct. Places like Miami that already experience tidal flooding due to sea level rise will have their worst ever tidal flooding. That is also right in the middle of hurricane season, if one hits Florida in late Oct things could get ugly.

Wonder if that means that Canada will stop the 1500 nurses who come into Detroit from Canada each day.

(Answer is no - Canada said that wouldn't be moral.)

But we will ask them to steal as much **** as they can on their way home every day.

I've always said that Canada is, in its heart, a nation of smugglers. Trumpie just might find out how true that is...

From Detroit?

There's got to be something there that's still not nailed down. At this point, it's just about counting coup. A crumbling bridge perhaps? That'd be both embarrassing as hell, and annoyingly polite and useful.

After Jared’s idiotic comment about the national stockpile not being for y’know, the states several folks pointed out how the website says it is exactly for that.

So Jared or Daddy-in-law changed the website.

How much gaslight can you snort folks! Suck it in!

Has anyone done the math on how much of Trump's stupidities could have been avoided if he didn't have this particular jackass advising him? It's got to be a lot.
