Tomorrow I have called for a National Day of Prayer. I will be tuning in to Pastor @Jentezen at the @FreeChapel Church in Gainesville, Georgia at 11:00 AM EDT. God Bless the USA! http://freechapel.org/live

Sound familiar? Yeah. Intelligence isn't so required to get horrible things done.

Indeed, the horrible things tend to be pretty ******* easy. Keeping large numbers of people in captivity is only hard if you actually care about keeping them healthy, safe and sane. Leaving them to rot with inadequate food and medicine is quite simple. Really, that's just about all you need to distinguish a prison from a death camp.

Yeah this is the one thing more than anything else I don't get, how could Trump ever have been considered "just a guy" and "antiestablishment" he is 100% one of the USA aristocratics, his whole public image has been based on not being "just a guy". Still find it astonishing.

A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest...

Trump makes me realise just how strange the USA's psyche is.

First thing I'd do is put an upper age limit on those who can run for president. 60 for first or second term.

While he's certainly not "just a guy", he's not really an aristocrat either, except in terms of the old joke. The real aristos are old money. They don't generally soil their hands running for office.

You've made that point a number of times and man, is it ever hard to understand. I recall your asking one of his supporters, who was talking about 'ending rule by elites and their corporate sponsors,' something like that, if they were sure Trump wasn't just more of the same. I don't think they ever answered.

I understand people, like the single mom in Ohio working two low-paying jobs and living with her mom, I understood her saying back in 2016 that Trump claimed to be "for working people" and she decided to give him a chance. Only Trump never said how he was going to do it. His track record makes it abundantly clear you have to be very careful about believing anything he says. If he's so smart why did he lose billions in business? Why did he lead three separate major corporations into oblivion?

A reporter went back to Ohio and reinterviewed the single mom. Now she says she regrets voting for Trump. That he really hasn't done anything for working people and she's very disappointed. She would never vote for him again.

I don't understand the people who support Trump but can't or won't explain -- in clear language -- why they support him. There was another woman interviewed in Ohio back in 2016. A young woman living at home while she attended a local community college. She told the interviewer she was voting for Trump, that she could never support Hillary Clinton because she "lied to us." About what? "I just don't trust her."

Okay but Trump was (and is) clearly the most immoral person to ever run for the presidency. How do you vote for someone like that if personal ethics are your bottom line? You get the feeling, like many of the Trump supporters, there were other reasons the college student preferred Trump, reasons she didn't care to discuss. Or maybe didn't even understand herself. I get the feeling many of these supporters -- like some of the ones I see at Trump's rallies -- are being played by Trump. You ask yourself: why don't these people see it?

Strange times.

This is the Republicans guys. Prior to Trump their hero against the West Coast Hollywood Liberals was the former governor of California who before that was the head of Hollywood's defacto actor union.

Again when your driving motivation spite and your end goal is trolling, moral consistency is not your friend.

Nothing they do making sense is a feature, not a bug.

They say one of the hardest things to do is convince victims of con artists that they have been conned.

A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest...

At the beginning of April 2016, President Trump took 5 different positions on abortions in 3 days.

Trump makes me realise just how strange the USA's psyche is.

Yep.
There is a quote attributed to a variety of sources:
“ Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires."

Once one understands that, it is easy to grasp why poor people support tax cuts for the most wealthy and why sick people don’t want the government paying for health care.

First thing I'd do is put an upper age limit on those who can run for president. 60 for first or second term.

Given that such a change would require a Consitutional amendment, I’m going to go off and ponder whether it will be easier to put an upper limit on the age or to pass a rewritten Second Amendment.

The last person (after Trump) that I would want as POTUS is 'just a guy'.

I agree. I want the smartest, most compassionate, least self centered and most capable person possible. And when I say LBJ is just a guy I mean he is relatable and not pretentious. Trump is relatable because he's not smart and is self centered which most people are but not to his degree of stupidity and ego.

Great Job by Judicial Watch. Potentially a treasure trove. Too bad you are not given more help, but it will all work out!

Phew glad that the funny emergency thing about a disease disappeared and we can back to normal.

Jumping Jesus, it's like a tired rock band playing nothing but their old hits.

Yes! After 50 years we understand you can't get no satisfaction! Stop whining!

The real question here is... "So what?"

In reality, of course, is that this is nothing more than an attempt to put more focus on the evil Hillary, because distractions!

Now, to poke elsewhere...

Trump wanted German company to produce coronavirus vaccine 'only for the United States'

:eye-poppi

*facepalm*

Certainly, it would be an advantage to the US to be able to monopolize vaccines. Not worth this terrible PR for highly limited even potential gain, though, to be nice about it.

Trump wanted German company to produce coronavirus vaccine 'only for the United States'...

This would play well with his supporters, though. At least a good proportion of them. Something along the lines:
Sorry, man. I don't CARE ABOUT NO DAMN GERMANS! I only care about Americans! President Trump is right on the money. Hell with them! Hell with all of them! Why don't you damn move to Germany if you love them so damn much!

In my opinion, the best thing for the US, at this point, would be for him, Pence, and particularly Moscow Mitch, to all catch this disease and die of it, and for the entire GOP to disintegrate shortly after, much like the Whigs after the death of Harrison.

( I absolutely reject violence or conspiracy against him - creating martyrs would be counterproductive, and also, the assassins would be murderers, which I oppose. )

I'm curious about the highlighted. It's a common refrain, but has it ever really happened? I'm genuinely curious.
