I don't think it did anything for anyone that wasn't already decided. Too mealy-mouthed when you scream about something not being true and then say that it is.

The problem with everyone wanting to go after Bernie is that if you are going to be the victim of a stomping better six people than one or two because they get in each others way.

Plus the only one that went after him with any fire was Biden. The rest was sort of "we all love him but you know the details" and "he will lose the general because we need to suck up more to Republicans." Which zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

In other words, if you're living single in South Bend making $15 per hour, you are grossing 2.5 times the poverty index. Adjusted for Cost of Living, make that nearly 4 times.

I found a 4 bedroom McMansion lite for $215,000 in South Bend. With a mortgage of $1152, that would give a $15-per-hour full-time worker a debt-to-income ratio of 50% if they didn't have any student loans. They could stretch and just swing it, and with a dual income household it would be totally doable.

No one would underwrite that mortgage. Your total payment (P&I tax insurance), which would be around $1400 to $1500 must be under 36% of your pretax income. Someone grossing 30k a year would struggle to even keep the lights on in a 215k house.

30k a year probably means netting about $1600 a month with a decent employer sponsored HC plan. Less if you gotta go it alone.

Indeed, especially since the moderates will control whatever legislation comes out of the House, and maybe the Senate (but I doubt the Dems even get a majority). The most surefire way to lose in November will be to piss off Bernie's supporters. They already proved they are willing to stay home 4 years ago.
 
The last two debates have been fiascos;both were organzined by news networks.think that is a coincidence?
Give the debates back to the League Of Women Voters....

Yeah, this could really be a problem. You have Warren indicating that she will stay in the race until the bitter end, even if she isn't winning significant numbers of delegates. If the other lagging candidates also stay in, I can easily see there not being anyone with a majority of pledged delegates.

I'm curious how the voters would respond to a non-viable candidate staying in the race. Say, after Super Tuesday, someone like Warren or Klobuchar or Bloomberg are in distant 4th or 5th place, but refuse to drop out. Will voters in later races actually vote for them, or just ignore them as non-viable and vote among the real frontrunners?

I think voters will start to pick winners. Seriously, who is voting Klobuchar after Super Tuesday? When she has no chance and her funding dries up, she won’t make the debates. The same will sooner or later happen to Buttigieg. Best for them to go out before it gets too embarrassing so that they can run another day. As for the two billionaires, they can waste their money as long as they want, but Bloomberg’s polling doesn’t look great now, and Steyer’s never has.

So that leaves Sanders, Biden and Warren. Warren probably will drop out eventually for the same reason Pete and Amy will.

Buttigieg reportedly cancelled some fundraisers in Florida. The campaign claimed that he had come down with a cold. Seriously? Colds are a standard risk during a campaign, you just take some Dayquil and suck it up.

The real issue is that he's going to get skunked in South Carolina and on Super Tuesday. He may get a few delegates here and there, but unlike Warren and Klobuchar, his home state is not voting next week, so he has no chance for a big share of delegates anywhere. And more important, he prevents a lot of other candidates not named Bernie from getting delegates as well.

Ironically, today Buttigieg was also declared the official winner of the Iowa fiasco.

I'd prefer they just go away. As far as I can tell, as soon as radio they've just been about who ever is the most glib.

That being said, they were less stupid when the League of Women Voters controlled them.
 
I've already got my "I already know who I'm voting for, do not knock" sign on my door. I expect it to be ignore several times.
