But get ready for 4 more years of Donnie, because that is where we are headed given what is going on in the Democratic Party.

Trump is having the time of his life. He's loving every minute of this.

Two major cracks appeared today - Barr and Kelley.
I think, given the lack of tweets for the last five hours or so, that The PDJT is going *******. Perhaps someone has control of his phone to protect him for the moment?

What is happening? People are voting, they have narrowed it to 3 plus a billionaire. Election comes around, Democrats vote for Democrats.

Bernie is not authorized to bring socialism, any more than Trump was allowed to armtwist Ukraine, but with a Senate involved, unlikely to succeed.

The flare up between Barr and Trump is interesting in that regard.
Flare up: pffffftttt.

Barr is just covering his ass and Trump is undoubtedly pleased.

Barr is under an ethics complaint and potential disbarment. Of course he's denying any culpability: Just a coincidence that he agrees with Trump, never spoke to Trump, thought the sentence range was unfair...

But it's the swing voters in the swing states you have to get to win.
I have seen no convincing argument that Bernie can win them over.

Bernie supporters would rather have trump than anyone else but B

I fear you are right.
And the hatred and contempt they show toward moderates and centrists, who the Dems have to have to win the election, is telling.
Dmes in the US in 2020 look to be repeating the same mistakes Labor in the UK made in the last UK election.

Kelley and Trump have been at odds for some time.
But the break with Barr is news.

I think it's more Barr is just sick and tired of having to put up with Trump's stupidity. The kind of thing Trump is trying to do with the Justice Department you do behind closed doors not in public.

Maybe, but Senators must have realized that Trump would just veto it.

I'm suspecting any republican senators that supported it may be doing so as a ploy following Trump's recent vendetta and all of the uncomfortable questions they get asked by the media... "Ignore the fact that we acquitted Trump and he's gone on to corrupt the justice department... we voted against him in a bill that will just be vetoed, making it completely meaningless"

I think some GOP senators might have hoped Trump would moderate a little after his acquittal;the opposite has happened.

Swing voters were offered a curiosity, Trump. They showed up voted. Now they are offered the same Trump. No wall no healthcare. They will not bother to vote. Or maybe for Sanders.

Polling indicates Trump has lost MI, WI and PA.

Bernie will keep us more out of trouble, but nothing much will happen. One term with a few bills. Second term with nothing, if he gets one. A few of the younger Democrats may achieve something.

The inevitability of a veto won't stop Trump taking note of their names and bearing a grudge. Uncomfortable questions from the media are water off a duck's back but a Trump grudge is forever, and could erupt at any time. Why take that risk?

I suspect that they're actually scared enough of conflict with Iran to risk the wrath of Trump, now or in the future. They have at last seen deeply enough into the abyss of an unconstrained Trump to feel fear. Subversion of the rule of law, meh, but war in the Gulf is of a different order. Of course their only available response is a symbolic restraint, but that ain't nobody's fault but their own. If Trump signed the bill he'd ignore it anyway if and when it suited him.

Whether Sanders or Trump win, the old saying that "the Vice-Presidency is a heartbeat away from a real job" will seldom have been more relevant.

Interesting concept. In a parliamentary democracy as exists in my country all government departments work for the citizens of our country.

Same in the US, at least if the Constitution is followed.
We have NEVER had somebody as authoritarian as Trump as Potus.
Even Nixon had some respect for the COnstituion, Trump has none, he sees it as something to get around so he can do what he wants.

With no one in the GOP keeping him in check.
