DRAIN THE SWAMP!

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN and then, KEEP AMERICA GREAT!

Wow - Trump Privilege in the literal sense: one law for him and his chumps, another for the rest.

This is such a blatant violation of Equality before the law that it deserves it's own Impeachment.

President Trump’s budget sets the right priorities:

-Funds the wall
-Supports our military
Maybe we will get lucky and the house democrats will refuse to pass any budget that doesn't cut military spending by however much Trump took from the military when he declared is 'state of emergency' to build the wall.

The Justice Department claims that the decision to revise the sentence was made before Trump's tweet, but there is little evidence of that.
It also asks us to believe that the tweet was the first they heard about Trump's reaction. Barr would most certainly have got it direct from the horse's mouth, and would most certainly leap into action on Trump's behalf.

Why would there be? DOJ deliberations are generally kept internal, there is usually no reason to make them available to the public.
Not usually, no. In this case there is, and the timing of the tweet is irrelevant. We all know what happened : Trump got the news, unloaded on Barr, and Barr got on the case. There'll be no paper-trail, of course, not in Trump's White House and Barr's DoJ.

ETA: You know what would be great? For the judge to look at whatever new sentencing recommendations that the DoJ hands out, and to end up taking the initial recommendations by the prosecutors.

Stone has certainly done himself no favors in her court room; she gave him a lot of leeway and he still abused the process.

Even if she did do that Trump would just pardon him anyway. It's not like this not-even-thinly veiled attempt is doing him any favors. His base still loves him, but I could see this bothering a few prosecutors, and fence sitters. I don't think it would bother them more than a straight up pardon. I can tell you one thing, there is no way he will ever be able to say "I'm going to be\am a law and order President". Any Dem can laugh him right off the stage, and embarrass him at any debate by doing it right in his face while saying Roger's name.

...Those voters do not see any benefit to "Medicare-for-all" when their relatives on the current version can't see a doctor without driving for 80 miles. They don't care about "free college" or "student loan forgiveness" when most of their family has never done more than finish high school.

My experience is anecdotal but that is certainly not my experience at all. My extended family lives in a small town in Minnesota in a place where all of the grades go to school at the same place. My other side lives in a small town in Pennsylvania where they actually have 2 total schools for the neighboring communities. My uncle sent 2 daughters to college, and is going on his 3rd heart attack. I'm not going to prattle on, just giving at least 1 data point.

Nice to know that Trump and Barr are probably annoying the hell out of non-political-hack federal prosecutors.

Laugh him off the stage?
What are you talking about?
He’ll bluster and bull **** and tell a story that his followers (and those without knowledge of the case) will lap up.

I’ve made the same mistake as well. People on this board overestimate the number of Americans who use facts, logic, and skepticism to make political decisions.

Evidently Trump has intervened in the Roger Stone sentence. After it was publicly announced that Stone's prosecutor recommended 7 to 9 years as a sentence, President Trump tweeted his outrage at the sentence suggestion, declaring that it "cannot be allowed". Not long afterwards, the Justice Department announced it was overruling the prosecutors and submitting a revised, lighter sentencing recommendation, prompting the lead prosecutor to resign.

The Justice Department claims that the decision to revise the sentence was made before Trump's tweet, but there is little evidence of that.

Correction - The whole prosecution team.

No way? He's been doing that anyways all along, despite making it perfectly clear that he's full of dung when he does so all along. Stone's just one more transgression to add to the mountain.

That's why the states need to go after these guys. The goal isn't punishment as much as deterrence. I would bet they have committed crimes that are state crimes. Lock a few people up in state prisons and the attitude will change.

The Fake News Media is looking hard for the Big Democrat Story, but there is nothing too fabulous. Wouldn’t a big story be that I got more New Hampshire Primary Votes than any incumbent president, in either party, in the history of that Great State? Not an insignificant fact!

Just got off the phone with my brother in New Hampshire. He said his girlfriend is a Democrat but after watching the SOTU and saw Pelosi‘s behavior, she said she’s going today and register as a republican & said she’ll never vote for a Democrat again as long as she lives! WINNING

Who are the four prosecutors (Mueller people?) who cut and ran after being exposed for recommending a ridiculous 9 year prison sentence to a man that got caught up in an investigation that was illegal, the Mueller Scam, and shouldn’t ever even have started? 13 Angry Democrats?

Is this the Judge that put Paul Manafort in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT, something that not even mobster Al Capone had to endure? How did she treat Crooked Hillary Clinton? Just asking!

All starting to unravel with the ridiculous 9 year sentence recommendation!

The DOJ is changing its sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone, according to a Senior DOJ official.
“The Department finds seven to nine years extreme, excessive and grossly disproportionate," the source said, adding the DOJ will clarify its position on sentencing later today
