He always has. He was beating the "I won the popular vote if you don't count all those millions of dirty illegal votes" drum the morning after Election Night.

Of course it's Trump so he's also said things which suggest the exact opposite, so... *shrugs*

Figuring out what Trump thinks is hard.

Among Democrats of all stripes, they must end up following the mantra:

“Vote blue, no matter who.”

I hope once a candidate emerges, they can put their differences aside and do what’s right.

I see it as a kind of dog-whistle to the Trumpsters.

Take, for instance, his claim that he "will protect your social security and medicare" while simultaneously attacking those programs through his proposed budget.

He is separating his Trumpsters from the rest of the population by using the "your", in the same way he is separating the members of Congress who voted to remove his repugnant personage from office from "real" Representatives.

His followers eat that up, as one would expect.

Yep. Failure to vote out Trump now will not end well. The trick is to remember this come November. Trump's minions have created a vast propaganda and disinformation campain that will affect people. It's up to each individual to fight back.

I'm going to sorry I posted this. The last time I gave a similar opinion, I got blasted.

It's the world where all the Democratic candidates are perceived to have little or no concern at all for anyone that is not part of their urban voting base. Large numbers of voters see an disdain for the problems of people living in areas where the hospitals have closed, the jobs have gone elsewhere, and the infrastructure has reached end-of-life. I grew up and lived in a place just like that until my 30's. I got out, but an awful lot of folks didn't.

I did not vote for Trump in 2016 and, no matter how bad the Democratic candidate is in 2020, I'll vote for that person. But to label everyone who does a racist homophobe is exactly the kind of thinking that allowed him to win in 2016.

There is such a perception (that the Dems don't care about rural voters), but it's propped up by lies and propaganda. Truth is, it doesn't matter how much the Dems pander to rural voters, this perception will remain because the propagandists on the right have a choke-hold on the rural population. These people will keep voting against their interests because they have been conditioned to do so by the media bubble they inhabit.

That's not a knock on the intelligence of rural voters. It's simply stating the truth.

If the claim is that he doesn’t lie, then why must counter-evidence be recent.

For more than two decades, members of the US military have received annual raises. Each raise is based on the annual increase in the Employment Cost Index (ECI). The raises for the past 10 years have been between 1% and 4%.

In December 2018, President Trump flew to Iraq and talked to some of the troops. In this impromptu address, he said


> “You haven’t gotten one [a raise] in more than 10 years — more than 10 years. And we got you a big one. I got you a big one. I got you a big one. They said: ‘You know, we could make it smaller. We could make it 3 percent. We could make it 2 percent. We could make it 4 percent.’ I said: ‘No. Make it 10 percent. Make it more than 10 percent’ ... And I guess there will be others, too. Would you like one sooner, or do you want to wait another 10 years? I don’t know.”

The actual rise turned out to be 2.6%.​

In 2018 he claimed that tariffs are making America rich, then though tariffs on Chinese goods are not paid for be the Chinese, they are paid for by American importers, American manufacturers, and/or American consumers.
