Er ... am I right in thinking that the Dem vote would be divided among several candidates? What if we totalled those candidates?

That would be ranked choice voting (or instant runoff voting or whatever, there's a couple of different names and a couple of different slight functional variations on the same base concept) instead of first past the post voting and it is across the board a better way to elect someone which is why we will never do it.

No, I don't think it works that way.

The poll numbers are basically for theoretical 'head to head' match-ups..."If Sanders were the nominee would you pick him or Trump". "If Warren were the nominee would you pick her or Trump"... "If Biden/Buttigieg/A moldy ham sandwich were the candidate...". So you can't just add the numbers together.

Now, I do think its possible that once a Democratic nominee is selected, there will be a bump in support (since there can be more focus on a single candidate). Until then, we are in the rather frustrating position of a corrupt and incompetent president who's approval rating is usually in the 40-45% range (which shouldn't be enough to get elected) but who is still somehow getting more support than Democrats.

(Another thing to remember is that this was one poll... others show Trump trailing various Democrats, sometimes by a significant margin.)

Yep.

I've posted that link before (maybe in a different thread) but it's worth noting again that it is the Republicans who do as much as they can, including illegal crap, to keep non-GOP voters away from the voting booth. It's absolutely disgusting.

Very little.

In one of the 2016 debates, there was an issue with the audio on his microphone for part of the time. It didn't affect the broadcast, but it did change the volume in the hall where the debate was actually held.

There was no admission that it was done deliberately (most likely a technical glitch). And there was no apology.

Chinese authorities have granted preliminary approval for dozens of Trump-branded businesses, expanding his commercial empire and raising further conflicts of interest, say lawyers.

The 38 trademarks include new hotels, spas, escort and concierge services, massage parlors, personal security services and insurance, according to public documents.

The President’s lawyers applied for the trademarks in April last year, at the same time the then Presidential candidate Trump was accusing China of "ripping off" the US and deliberately manipulating its currency to its own advantage.

They are all apparently fighting hard for "Veterans and Military" and love "our Farmers" and are "Strong on Border Security"

I am shocked!

Not shocked that Trump would try to expand his business dealings in this way. I am shocked that there is still any value in 'Trump-branded businesses'.

Didn't a bunch of buildings that had the Trump name on them try to take his name off after the election? And didn't Trump's family also decide to open up new hotels under the name 'Scion' because the name 'Trump' was considered too toxic?

Maybe chinese consumers are more forgiving over Trump's racism. But I suspect they probably don't look on him too favorably.

To be fair, some of them might be. Trump, on the other hand, is assuredly not.
