It's a forgone conclusion there'll be one, how long?

ETA: How do get a reply before it even gets posted?

For the "or less" options, just assume "but more than the line above".

Fine hours, to show willing, then a vote strictly along party lines. Trump will interpret that as evidence of the Mandate of Heaven and become even more outrageous. I will invest in liquor manufacturers because they're going to make a lot of sales.

Given the circus the Repugnicans are making of this, maybe the Democrats should've included a number of frivolous articles of impeachment as if they were real.

"President Donald J Trump caused the 1929 stock market crash. Believe us."

"President Donald J Trump was Hitler's mentor. His mentor. Can you believe that?"

"President Donald J Trump strangled Jesus of Nazareth to death and got away with it. Many people don't know that."

Did you mean "five hours"? Although "fine" kind of works somehow.

Yeah, 5. Autocorrect is a horror lately. It corrected "phone" to "ovine" this morning in a text from my sister. Those are very different things, barring mad science.

More then a week, less then a month, 2-3 weeks the most likely.

Regardless of everything the Republicans will want to pretend they are taking this seriously so we'll probably see a couple of weeks of absolutely pointless posturing and a the Republicans using this as a chance to throw dirt at the Democrats (especially the likely 20202 nominees, again fair chance they succeed in effectively turning it into the Hunter Biden show) before the inevitable outcome.

Gilligan's Impeachment. It was only supposed to last three house.

This is why I gave it about a month. They'll get media coverage to pushing any off-the-wall conspiracy theory they can so that ultimately no one can keep track of what is going on.

The real question isn't how long the trial will last. The real question is how weird it will get. Do we take a drink every time the DNC server is mentioned? Or Benghazi? Or child porn rings in the basements of pizza restaurants? Climate change? God/Big Foot/aliens want Trump to be president? I mean, I just don't know.

I've been saying a day, but I just looked up Clinton's trial and it was from January 7 to February 9. Might be a lot of procedural stuff takes time, I don't know.

Thats kind of amazing since they called no witnesses. They did depose witnesses privately and made the recordings of those depositions available for Senators to view.

I still hold that the '98 Republicans had no actual hope of convicting Clinton in the Senate. They weren't that bad at reading the room back then.

Clinton's Impeachment was character assassination to set the first stage for the '00 election campaign.

And that of the 2016 one.

There should be a negative number option. I predict that the Republicans not only vote Trump "not-guilty" but actually declare he performed a heroic act and give him an award. And that they do that before any actual consideration of the bill of impeachment from the House.

Trump hates that other people are on Tv and not him.
My guess is McConnell will invite him to make a statement but answer no questions - just like any innocent defendant.
