Split Thread Scorpion's Spiritualism

Quite interesting that the spirits apparently are clothed. I wonder why? I assume that in the paradise spirit world, the temperature is always perfect, and because they have no libido, there is no reason to cover their sexual organs if they have any.

They have special spirit clothes that they only wear when they are communication the living.

The idea is that the sexy bits would be so distracting that the living would only stare at them and not pay attention to the vital info that the spirits are dispensing.

So you KNEW it was wrong from a karmic standpoint, that the spirits shouldn't be doing it, but you kept asking anyways...

I don't actually ask them for a win, I just try and vibe the numbers like I did when I won. I let my pen float over the numbers to see if the spirits will guide me as they did before, but the spirits decline to help me. Since I cannot see into the future by myself I doubt I will ever win unless by pure luck, and the odds against that are very high.

As far as I know from mediums...

You don't know anything from mediums. You freely admit there are people out there merely pretending to be mediums. And you admit you can't tell the difference between them and the people you're citing as authorities. How does that result in knowledge? Your information is literally no more reliable than what I hear from the man on the train platform who's talking to a bench.

Anyone that dies does not automatically have access to memories of past lives.

But this whole hokey religion is based on people maintaining their former personalities in the spirit world such that mediums can use the personal appeal of some spirit to instill faith. You have American Indians and Chinese spirit guides and so forth, all lending an exotic air to the tale. If they stop being who they are once they die, then the whole religion collapses.

But as a rule only enlightened souls that have completed their cycle of incarnations have full access to memory of past lives.

But then there's your little skirt-chasing brother Lawrence, who obviously hasn't reached ultimate enlightenment, yet who not only has the memory of his former life -- brief and insignificant as it was -- but is allowed to talk to you about it. As usual, your spirit world is full of contradictory principles of operation and ad hoc exceptions.

In these dangerous times the spirit world would doubtlessly like to comfort as many people as they can. But belief remains largely a matter of faith. The spirit world are unlikely to give absolute scientific proof of their existence, as that would interfere with the worlds karma.

You didn't answer the question. You just repeated the dilemma you were asked to resolve. Gullibility remains largely a matter of faith, too.

The magician includes a few steps that supposedly preclude the accomplishment of the illusion by ordinary means. He shows you the apparently empty hat before pulling the rabbit out of it. He opens the little window to show that the newly bisected woman is still apparently inside the box. Your self-proclaimed mediums do the same thing, proposing to accomplish things you believe can't be done by ordinary means. They attempt to convince you by ordinary rational means that their gift is real. They've invited you to tell yourself that your belief results from a critical process, not blind faith. But now that you're being shown an actual critical process, you balk and return to blind faith.

There's no such thing as "absolute scientific proof," so quit battering your usual straw man. There is merely evidence that survives rational examination. You have none of that, but your mediums are frantically trying to convince you that they do. You maintain that science is incomplete and that its methods of investigation are limited and flawed, such that it can never understand your beliefs. But your information is merely ad hoc hearsay that makes absolutely no sense. Your inability to paint a coherent, uncontradictory picture of this place that you claim is real has a much more parsimonious explanation: it's all made up. Mediums are poor storytellers who can't keep the details straight from story to story. And you've fallen for it, hook-line-and-sinker.

I see.

So communicating with people through mediums, which is proof to both of them, is NOT interfering with the worlds karma in any way? It's NOT influencing anyone when we are supposed to make our own decisions here on earth with no interference?

The spirit world are not allowed to directly interfere with peoples karma, but they do all they can to help within limits.

I believe they try to inspire people by telepathy, and often succeed in planting ideas in peoples heads even though those people think the ideas were their own.

But the odds against you winning with spiritual help were also apparently very high. The spirits broke the rules to give you the one win, something we understand may never happen again. When the statistical behavior of the outcome is substantially the same with or without the proffered additional influence, the addition is superfluous and can be ignored. You winning the lottery is not proof that the spirit world is real.

The spirit world are not allowed to directly interfere with peoples karma...

Knowing that you had a baby brother who died in infancy has dramatically affected how you live your life and relate to people. How can you argue that has no karmic effect?

I believe they try to inspire people by telepathy, and often succeed in planting ideas in peoples heads even though those people think the ideas were their own.

Tell us how one can distinguish thoughts planted by telepathy versus thoughts that arise normally.

When I said people do not remember their past lives when they die I was talking about former incarnations, not the incarnation before they died. Obviously they remember their last life. But the previous lives are not revealed to the spirit until it has finished its round of incarnations.

Ad hoc revision.

A female voice told me I would win and I did. The odds against winning five numbers was 55,000 to 1 against, but the odds of being told you would win on the only occasion you did win must be much higher. I have never heard that voice again.

It is up to the hierarchy of the spirit world to decide what is allowed and what is not. They allow subtle help but not direct interference .

I believe many people have been inspired without knowing they were, including me. A medium told me the spirit world inspired me to do a blue and white painting.

That's my point. It appears to be completely whimsical. You explain the various spritualist anecdotes by telling us that's how the rules of the spirit world work. But when we point out that the "rules" are contradictory, ad hoc, and pointless, you basically tell us there are no rules.

You're obviously just making all this up, or believing what others have made up.

You didn't answer my question. What happens neurologically when one receives telepathy versus when one simply has a thought?

I don't know anything about neurology, but I believe spirits can plant ideas in peoples heads. People like Charles Dickens, and Churchill may have been inspired without knowing it.

Then on what basis are you claiming that thoughts arising from telepathy are indistinguishable from ordinary thoughts?

My own experience. I did not know a spirit inspired me to do a painting, I thought it was my own idea. But a medium told me I had been inspired.

I think some people know they are capable of telepathy, I have recounted somewhere an account of a psychic office girl tormenting me with telepathy. I remain sure that happened because she told me four facts about what I was thinking.

Again this blind faith in self-proclaimed mediums, which you can't tell are real or fake.

Fake mediums work by attributing to spiritual causes certain effects that arise from ordinary, if improbable or difficult, causes. And you're telling us that thoughts may have either a natural or a supernatural cause, and there's no way to tell the difference between them. Once again, if the proposed cause is said not to have a distinct effect, it may be discarded. Therefore we discard telepathy.

Here we go again.

You can't fix all the problems that other posters have identified with your absurdly ad hoc vision of the spirit world. So you've tied an onion to your belt and now we have to listen to you tell all your rambling stories. Again.
