The Trump Presidency: Part 17

But he spent most of that on makeup so he's really not that wealthy today.
More likely spent it all on products promoted by Glenn Beck...someone who was on Fox News primetime with whom I guess old Shep didn't have a problem? Maybe he contributed part of his salary to keeping that creepy moron Bill O'Reilly on the air spouting pure nonsense for all those years?

Again, his effort to sell himself as being disgusted by his network seems transparently false to me. He wasn't some naif hired straight out of college. He's a 55-year-old man who was basically one of the founders of the network and has received a high seven-figure salary for his work.

Maybe a single straw (after nearly 3 years of Trump??) finally broke the camel's back, but he was helping build that load.

Trump Tweets

So now they are after the legendary “crime buster” and greatest Mayor in the history of NYC, Rudy Giuliani. He may seem a little rough around the edges sometimes, but he is also a great guy and wonderful lawyer. Such a one sided Witch Hunt going on in USA. Deep State. Shameful!

A two sided witch hunt would be an interesting concept. I wonder how it would work.

In case Barr seemed in any way reasonable before:

“Virtually every moral pathology has gained ground,” he said in a speech at the University of Notre Dame’s law school. (See the video above beginning at 21:48.)

The speech revealed how deeply the top lawman in the nation is tied to his Catholicism as he lashed a recent New Jersey law requiring LGBTQ curriculum in public schools to support civil rights. He complained that laws are being “used as a battering ram to break down traditional moral values.”

Barr said that secular militants, including “so-called progressives,” are mobilized in an “organized destruction” of religion. He vowed that his Justice Department will fight for the “most cherished of all our American liberties: the freedom to live according to our faith.”

Because of the decreasing influence of Judeo-Christian traditions, Barr insisted, “along with the wreckage of the family, we are seeing record levels of depression and mental illness, dispirited young people, soaring suicide rates, increasing numbers of angry and alienated young males, an increase in senseless violence and a deadly drug epidemic.”

...

He added: “I won’t dwell on the bitter results of the new secular age. Suffice it to say that the campaign to destroy the traditional moral order has ... brought with it immense suffering and misery.”

Barr called Judeo-Christian moral standards the “ultimate utilitarian rules for human conduct ... They are like God’s instruction manual for the best running of man and the best operation for human society,” he added.

Barr said religion has been under “increasing” assault in America over the last 50 years and that “ground zero” for attacks on religion now are “the schools.”

Linky.

But Trump held up a flag!

And who decides what is a "legitimate" impeachment inquiry? Precedence says that is entirely up to the House of Representatives and NOT the courts.

Agreed. I'm just pointing out that if the dissenter's argument was taken in toto, then it is not so negative for Trump. He could still ask the courts to review the constitutionality of the impeachment itself.

But the dissent appears to be very unlikely to resemble the end result of this case.
