And just breaking, that Barr contacted foreign govenrments in an attempt to discredit the FBI and the CIA. Un freaking believable.

I thought the Trump administration was going to be bad, but in my wildest nightmares I never thought they would be this bad. UN ******* BELIEVABLE!

Australian PM asked to investigate origins of Mueller report to discredit it. The report that Trump says totally exonerated him.

Australian PM agrees to.
A spokesman from the Prime Minister's office confirmed that call and said Morrison had agreed to help the investigation.

"The Australian Government has always been ready to assist and cooperate with efforts that help shed further light on the matters under investigation," the spokesman said in a statement.

"The PM confirmed this readiness once again in conversation with the President."

I predict that Trump’s statement today that he’s trying to get the identity of the whistleblower will end up being a count of obstruction of justice in the upcoming impeachment.

The civil war tweet is also a high crime in my book.

Is it just me or is Trump getting more demented by the day?

Pretty sure it's not just you - he seems to be falling to pieces by the hour.

I hope he doesn't have a stroke and die; I can see the Second Amendment People taking that very badly, because they won't believe he died naturally.

In the interest of “The Principle of Charity”.

1) It was a retweet. I know that implies he agrees with the original tweeter, but is one step removed from actually invoking a Civil War comparison himself.

2) Even the actual tweet just seems to be saying the rift a successful impeachment would be comparable to the rift caused by the Civil War.

“... it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation...”

I do find grossly inappropriate, as were many of today’s tweets. I’m not defending it. But let’s not exaggerate or misrepresent what was actually tweeted.

I am really afraid that Trump will get so desperate he will start to issue orders to Barr to start arresting his opponents.

That's too blatant. He won't go that far.

Contacting Australia and Ukraine at least gives himself plausible deniability that he's doing anything wrong.

The entire reason for having Hunter Biden connected with them was to insulate them from American pressure.

Oh, you're on the Board of that company, eh? Congratulations ... uh, I guess.

You're not? Then you have no basis for making the above statement.

ETA: I see I'm just jumping on an already rolling band wagon.

A Harvard law professor came to the same conclusion. Will it be included in the articles of impeachment? I doubt it.

Indeed, we don't want him to become a martyr. We want his fat ugly face in prison.

Trump worshipers are something else. How can that creep be god to anyone like that?

Trump might but Barr would not go that far. There are a few nutters in Trump's inner circle like Giuliani. But they are not all nutters.

I agree that desperation will kick in - if it hasn't already. But what I'm afraid of is that his rabid core will take his exhortations to heart and hurt or kill a lot of people. Especially in that period extending from election day to inauguration day. Gawd knows what will be unleashed.

I've walked down from a lot of the frayed edges of my spitballing last night. There does remain a lump of concern over the fact that the Ukraine issue as the lead option for impeachment comes with the reality that -all facts that are not in dispute aside- every time we say "Trump", they will say "Biden" and that feels like getting locked onto a set of train tracks and we don't know where "the end of the line" is on them.

Oh, and one other thing.

Having recently watched Chernobyl, could U.S. media stop using the term "melt down" in connection to this Ukraine story?

I mean my god, have some damn decency.
