I am really afraid that Trump will get so desperate he will start to issue orders to Barr to start arresting his opponents.

Am I reading this right? Did someone point out to Trump that you can't just prosecute whistleblowers on a whim, and his reaction is to suggest someone just changed the rules about that in order to thwart him?

There was a form that whistleblowers had to fill out that did not specify that the whistleblower did not have to seen the action first hand. The form (not the law) was changed to reflect that the whistleblower did not have to have been a first-hand witness.

Legally, nothing really happened, but looked at from a certain light, it gives the GOP CTers some more one-handed typing material.

No, as noted up thread, he is conflating a simple change in the form, to actually reflect the lack of requirement of first hand witnessing, as a change in the rules (in order to thwart him).

He's completely freaking out over impeachment, as evidenced by the "treason" scattershot and brazen attempts to out the whistleblower. Regardless if he supposedly dared this to happen because he wants it, I think certain realities are setting in. Such as, a microscope is going to be jammed up his ass. That's not comfortable for a criminal/grifter. And he's seeing public opinion polls turning against him.

I don't know about 'by the day'. I think the competing theme is 'as more and more charges against him accumulate'.

He had a little reprieve when Barr helped him quash the Mueller report.

Now his jock strap is so bunched up he's really getting anxious.

Let's not forget the whole 'It'll mean civil war' shtick. It was one thing to mention your supporters tend to have guns, another to repost warnings of civil war should you be impeached.

And just breaking, that Barr contacted foreign govenrments in an attempt to discredit the FBI and the CIA. Un freaking believable.
