That's always bugged me in movies like Men in Black too, where most major technology was said to have come from "out of town". It reduces humanity to "Ugh. Me am stupid ape. Me get shiny toys from friends from sky."

A few decades ago, I read a kooky conspiracy book that made that claim. The author claimed to have worked for the program that adapted the alien technology. Where he completely lost me though was story he told about seeing the pickled bodies of aliens in a truck in glass containers. I don't remember all of the details, but he basically claimed that the Air Force (or whoever) transported the preserved bodies of the aliens to area 51 in glass containers in an unlocked semi-trailer.

It's the same lack of respect for human achievement that leads people to think the pyramids were built with alien help.

What, they don't think humans can stack rocks together? And if the aliens can do it, why not us? We managed to get general relativity and quantum mechanics. I think we're pretty good at this.

Because a few CTs string together a laundry list of occurrences that must happen to build the pyramids. Specific talents that the Egyptians "did not possess"(in their minds of course) to build them. People should watch some Science channel, or Discovery or Learning to find that scientists/archeologists have done that already finding that the skills, tools, materials where available to construct the pyramids. Despite what the CTs offer.

Well my initial post was that a friend believed all the recent technologies(since 1949) where all derived from the crash site/artifacts, that to me was bewildering and no about of logic would bring him around.
Similarly my wife believes in alien visitations adductions etc. No amount of logic convinces her that simply is a pipe dream and can't be demonstrated.

There's a popular misconception that "the blocks fit together so perfectly that you can't slide a piece of paper between them". As opposed to just being stone blocks sitting on top of each other.
Now that I think about it, it would probably be hard to slide a piece of paper between two irregular surfaces that are pressed together, but that's not what they mean.

Those alien technology guys have it backwards. If you could slip a sheet of paper between them that would mean they are not touching. Levitating blocks would be a definite sign of alien tech.
