The New York Times is now blaming an editor for the horrible mistake they made in trying to destroy or influence Justice Brett Kavanaugh. It wasn’t the editor, the Times knew everything. They are sick and desperate, losing in so many ways!

I'm Canadian, and (was) NOT a political junkie. But the events in US politics over the past 4 years have had me keeping tabs on things in a way I've never done before. By a *long* shot. Matters down there have got to the point of being a veritable multi-car freeway pileup that one cannot turn one's gaze away from. Morbidly fascinating. If the stakes weren't so high, it would be pure entertainment eclipsing just about anything Hollywood could cook up.

When I see the ignoramii among the 'US man/woman in the street' media interviews, I wonder if an outsider like me might have a better handle on current US affairs politics wise than 80+% of US citizens. If so, that scares the crap out of me. Because those voters are wallowing in a certain ignorance while their country is facing the gravest threat in a couple of generations--at least.

And it's scary because it might mean that I *am* turning into a political junkie! ;)

I don't disagree with you. Unless a sports figure has actually done something significant for the good of the nation, I don't see why they're appropriate recipients of the nation's top civilian medal. And I don't think there's any doubt that Trump issued the medal because of Mo's loyalty to Trump.

Trump was talking about news journalists, the respect he has for them. Ironic that the president who constantly belittles the news media, who has called them the "enemy of the people," who has whipped up widespread public disdain for news journalists, privately, face-to-face, is usually very friendly with them. I was struck by this several months ago while reading a profile of the New York Times White House correspondent. It wasn't the point of the story, but in passing it became obvious that Trump was on -- and tried to remain on -- very friendly terms with the Times White House staff. Although I'm sure many of them detest Trump, it's true what Trump told them the other day on Air Force One. They are very professional. So when treated with courtesy and respect they reciprocate.

More evidence -- if any was needed -- Trump is completely unsuitable to serve as our president.

I'm in the U.S. and have kind of done the same thing. I never really paid much attention to politics or had the news on so much until this Administration. Or felt I needed to.

Okay, does anyone have any idea what he means by this part? I Googled that phrase and didn't even find any woo sites talking about her "partying" on the anniversary.
