The Trump Presidency: Sweet/Sweat 16

It was a survey by some luxury travel magazine. I have no idea how well regarded it is, compared to some of the more formal travel/accommodation rating organisations.

The survey was probably sent to everyone on the Trump $50K+ donor list!

The #1 best hotel.

FFS, can we get a president who can write English correctly?

Can anybody locate who gave out this award? The only article I can find is from a poorly translated site (appears to be Israeli) that mentions nothing about the source survey other than that it comes from something they refer to as "Luxury Standard of Living Journal".which I can find no where. It has an editor in chief named "Reduce Gibbons" who also has no internet presence.

Why I think it's a crap translation? Well, here's the article on "Headlinezpro...."
https://headlinezpro.com/donald-tru...tower-in-new-york-is-named-best-in-the-world/

The language sounds like one of those Babblefish games... translated from the Urdu into Portuguese then back to English.

He may possibly well no longer be all individuals’s cup of tea in phrases of politics.

However one component Donald Trump is aware of is the correct design to elope an correct resort.

The proof? Trump World Hotel and Tower in New York has been named because the most straightforward resort on this planet by readers of a luxurious depart journal.

'Luxury Lifestyle Magazine' according to the Daily Fail.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/...al-Hotel-Tower-New-York-named-best-world.html

The original article reads slightly oddly. This is from the magazine's web page:

https://www.luxurylifestylemag.co.u...n-to-gain-top-spot-on-worlds-best-hotel-list/

He may not be everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to politics but one thing Donald Trump and co know is a good hotel. The best in fact. Trump International Hotel and Tower New York has claimed the top spot after being voted the best hotel in the world by readers of premium publication Luxury Lifestyle Magazine.

They're sort of referring to themselves in third person. Maybe just some poor copy editing by someone who commissioned a piece from a freelance writer, but it's not exactly a sign of a quality publication.

Which is why I think they will hold hearings, get out plenty of dirt on Trump, but never actually bring up impeachment for a vote.
The trap is too apparent.
An acquittal in the Senate would be a huge boost for Donnie.

That’s what sways me to be pro-impeachment.

Enforce congressional subpoenas. Fine or imprison those who ignore them. Get all the obstruction and emoluments violations out in the open, and follow any new rabbit trails that hearings uncover. Diehard Trump supporters will remain unswayed, but they’re unreachable anyway. But there’s a small mushy middle of undecideds out there, and a drip...drip...drip of new revelations might just sway them to either stay home on Election Day or even hold their noses and vote Democratic just to get a criminal out of the White House.

But even if it has either no effect or a negative effect, oversight is Congress’s responsibility. To abandon it due to possible negative polical consequences would be crippling to our three branches checks and balances.

Trump blames energy-efficient lightbulbs for his orange skin: ‘The light is the worst’

President Donald Trump blamed his orange complexion on energy-saving lightbulbs.

The president complained Thursday during a speech at the 2019 House Republican Conference Member Retreat Dinner that the lightbulbs made him look bad on television, and the crowd laughed, reported NBC News.

“People said, what’s with the light bulb?” Trump told the crowd. “I said, here’s the story, and I looked at it: The bulb that we’re being forced to use — No. 1, to me, most importantly, the light’s no good. I always look orange.”

How do you impeach a President who has helped create perhaps the greatest economy in the history of our Country? All time best unemployment numbers, especially for Blacks, Hispanics, Asians & Women. More people working today than ever before. Rebuilt Military & Choice for Vets...

....Became Number 1 in World & Independent in Energy. Will soon have record number of Judges, 2 SC Justices. Done more than any President in first 2 1/2 years despite phony & fraudulent Witch Hunt illegally led against him. WIN on Mueller Report, Mueller Testimony & James Comey..

....IG Report, which showed him to be a Disgraced & Dirty Cop. Republicans have unified like never before. You don’t impeach Presidents for doing a good (great!) job. No Obstruction, No Collusion, only treasonous crimes committed by the other side, and led by the Democrats. Sad!

I'll ask her tonight, but I'll take a wild stab at what my wife would say (she's a chartered lighting engineer)

Energy saving lamps generally have a more neutral colour tone, and therefore give a truer picture of the colour spectrum of the surfaces they are lighting.

If anything, incandescent lamps tend towards the orange end of the visible light spectrum and therefore are more likely to affect skin tone than energy saving options.

I could have got that completely backwards though - light can be quite counter-intuitive.

Come on, calling out a double dog dare in Congress is a genuinely funny way to suggest that impeachment will go poorly for the Democrats.

I don't know why it would go poorly for Democrats, unless we're purely basing this on if he will or won't be impeached. I don't believe that to be the case as I think there are a myriad of smaller victories to be had. Getting the truth to the American people being one of them.

Illegal Immigration costs the USA over 300 Billion Dollars a year. There is no reason for this, and things are being set in motion to have this number come WAY DOWN. Democrats could end Loopholes and it would be a whole lot easier, and faster. But it will all happen anyway!....

...VERY stupidly negotiated Trade Deals, and Illegal Immigration, are a tremendous cost and burden to our Country. They are BOTH coming along very well and someday, in the not too distant future, America will see a very positive change. Remember, America First

I wasn't saying that it will go poorly for the Democrats, just repeating the intended message.

I don't know how impeachment would go for the Democrats. It seems to me very likely to go poorly. The odds of Trump being removed are nearly nil and the Democrats could be attacked as partisans who hit below the belt. On the other hand, the proceedings could conceivably sway voters that the Democrats have raised real, important issues and the Republicans have shirked their oversight duties.

But I tend towards the view that the House has an obligation to impeach Trump because the apparent incompetence and corruption of the president should be dealt with. To ignore blatant acts such as the repeated, brazen violation of the emoluments clause is to imply that such violations are acceptable. If Clinton should be impeached because of perjury (and I tend to think he should have been), then Trump should be impeached due to his myriad shenanigans (including, some argue, perjury in his written testimony in the Mueller investigation, though I know little about that).

The two big Congressional wins in North Carolina on Tuesday, Dan Bishop and Greg Murphy, have reverberated all over the World. They showed a lot of people how strong the Republican Party is, and how well it is doing. 2020 is a big, and very important, Election. We will WIN!

I was out doing a bit of shopping today and the Greek people were talking of nothing else!

I kind of like old Bernie, but I agree, I don't think he's the winner here. I would vote for Biden if he runs, but I don't care that much for him.

I'm liking Warren more.

I'm struggling with why the Democrats are even considering candidates that will be 78 and 79 (Biden and Bernie) come election time.
