The Trump Presidency: Sweet/Sweat 16

Then why are the Republicans acting so weird? Such a move would require a new Cobsitutional Amendment and every political analyst in the country knows that there is 0.0000% chance of such an amendment passing.

Also, dont they find it tiring to constantly scream about all the bad things that will happen if the Republicans dot get Re-elected?

My non-critically thinking, FOX News watching mother declared yesterday that if a Democrat gets elected they will "outlaw cars". That was her takeaway from the California emissions standards issue. I don't know whether she got that directly from her television talking heads or whether that's the nonsense she processed out of what they tell her, but that's what she thinks. And, as dreadful as it is to say, so far she's been a pretty accurate bellwether of how a great many retired Baby Boomers think.

I think the posters on this board have a skewed view of politics because here (with the occasional hysterical exception) we tend to be critical thinkers. We are unlike the majority of the population in that, regardless of where on the political spectrum we fall. Out there in the wilds of suburbia millions of voters really do believe in insane hyperbole.

Another thing: If there was a SECRET meeting that was supposed to take place today (and I'm not yet convinced there was), it sure isn't secret anymore. If he really wanted to cancel the meeting for his claimed reasons, he could have still kept it secret. But by shooting off his damn fool mouth again, he has likely ensured that such a meeting will never take place. The whole process is probably down the drain.

But I'm sure he'll find a way to blame Obama.

The Taliban says that they were not contacted about the cancellation and learned about it via Twitter. Typical.

But both Afghanistan and the Taliban confirm there was to be a meeting and it was cancelled. I reckon there was one scheduled.

Can confirm. I recently had an awkward conversation with a very chatty security guard who insisted that if Warren were elected she was going to knock down everyone's house and make them rebuild it as part of "that green deal," and absolutely would not take "I really don't think that's how it'd work" as an answer.

I know that there's no letter 'f' in crazy - but that's f in crazy.

In November 2016, when Trump showed up to vote at his neighborhood polling place (near Trump Tower), the people on line, his neighbors, booed him.

In New York, we saw all this coming. The border crisis, kids in cages, tariffs, Space Force, MBS had a guy dismembered wink-wink, love letters from Kim Jong-un, screwing our relations with European nations, insulting their leaders, the endless rants. It's who Donnie is. Kind of an unfunny Borat.

There's your mistake right there, the analysts know but that doesn't translate to the typical Trump follower.

Yeah, could see it around the world and having never even seen the Apprentice.

I would have asked what he thought Bernie would do.

And it gets worse, they want to turn the Republican Party into the Trump Dynasty.

It's not just suburbia, to be quite unpleasantly honest. As a general rule, those who are actually paying real attention to politics tend to be in a small minority. Add that fact to the fact that the Right-Wing is very good at and focused on one thing - loudly shaping the discussion and giving people just enough authoritative half-truths, general misinformation, and lots of outright disinformation to get themselves to delude themselves and, well... you get 40% approval rating for friggin' Trump and co. Rather than 15% or so.

Looking forward to being in the North Carolina tomorrow night. We’re having a BIG RALLY for a great guy, Dan Bishop. Strong on Crime, Borders, your Military and our Vets, we need Dan Bishop in Washington badly. His opponent is WEAK on Crime, Borders, and against your 2nd A.

Congratulations to @JudgeJeanine Pirro on having, again, the Number One Best Selling Book!

Until Trump's bumblings personally and directly affect this "uninformed" part of the US population, he retains some "pull". But this is changing, especially as the economic stupidities and ignorant isolationism start to bite hard. Trump can say "It was Obama's fault" or "The Dems are trying to block me" only for so long. Already his tariffs are biting and killing US industries, and agriculture. That was never Obama's move, that was his because he crowed about it...still does. But the subsequent lying is what is getting noticed by his erstwhile base, and that causes them to look at all the other "promises" trump has given them.

The problem with hoodwinking and deluding people as Snake-Oil Donny is trying is you can usually only do it for so long, and the repercussions when found out are usually fierce. Donny has been down that road many times before. He has always been bailed out by daddy, or by his "new friends" in Saudi Arabia or Russia. This time it could be jail, but I'm suspecting he is aiming for the mental institute for the criminally insane.

Thank you @IvankaTrump for continuing to show America’s support for the people of Venezuela! We will not stop fighting until they have regained the #Libertad they deserve.

He's Tweeting Mad Libs, isn't he?

Well, there's the problem...

Everything is on the line. "...the Democrats will move for an outright repeal of the Second Amendment," said @RepMoBrooks (R-AL).

Mo Brooks must have been hit in the head with a piece of flying debris when Dorian hit Alabama even harder than anticipated!
