That is what is amusing about Rees Mogg:He looks like a Hollywood stereotype of the obnoxious English Snob straight from central casting...

I remember reading about him, both in the news and here and the forum, then googling him to see what he's about and he looked exactly as I had imagined.

Indeed. A Norway-style Brexit, with CU, would be an acceptable compromise.

The funny thing about all this is that Norway-style Brexit with CU is still entirely possible, even if WA is ratified. WA is just the terms of how UK is to withdraw from EU, how things remain the same until the end of 2020, when a new relationship is supposed to kick in.
A Norway-style Berxit with CU would be entirely possible, if British politicians could sell it to the electorate. Given the circumstances they might as well be building fusion-powered invisible pink unicorns with two horns.

It might be the best way out that can be managed. But exactly what Nigel Farage claimed he wanted until the votes were counted can't really be described as a 'compromise'.

Farage total political collapse since Brexit passed is a good example of "Be careful of what you wish for, you might get it".

I got the feeling that he didn't really wish for a Brexit win. He had a good racket going as long as Britain is a member.
He clearly didn't expect to "win" the referendum. Indeed he was already saying before the results came back that he would continue to "fight" to leave the EU if the UK population decided to remain in the EU. Which is why his hypocrisy in regard to "remainers" would be funny if it wasn't such an important issue.

Far right pro-Brexit groups are threatening to riot today, according to the INDEPENDENT.

BoJo has been accused of using right-wing language designed to appeal to the far right. For example, constantly referring to the Bill to stop No-Deal, a 'Surrender Bill' and it seems deliberate.

Mr Johnson is currently receiving substantial support from key far-right figures, including former Britain First leader Jayda Fransen, who praised him for “purging the traitors” in his party and called on others to fall behind him.

The operators of Tommy Robinson’s official Telegram channel called on people to “back Boris”, while supporters shared memes depicting him as Winston Churchill.

Ms Colliver warned that if the far right feel Mr Johnson is “in their corner”, it may reduce unrest in the short term but make them feel that their ideals have mainstream support.

A return to the thirties, when the far right were strong?, the Indie asks.
