The Trump Presidency: Sweet/Sweat 16

I would pay good money to see video footage of President Warren laughing as the Secret Service tazes a weeping Trump and drags him out of the Oval Office. Especially if he does that thing with the door frame that cats do when you try to get them into a carrier.

You can put the cat into a bag and then kind of 'pour' it into the carrier.

This would also work well with Trump, except you could just toss the bag into a dumpster. Or the Potomac. Whatever.

Couldn't you toss the bag into a dumpster, then toss the dumpster into the Potomac? (You had 2 good options... hate to miss one of them.)

Make sure you set it on fire first. (Although the number of times we've heard the Trump administration called a 'Dumpster fire', its probably not necessary.)

Just tell him he's going to Mar-a-Lago for a weekend trip, and then lock the doors once he's out.

 :D

I'd pay more.

I would be happy if people were outside the White House with really loud ... whatever the modern equivalent of a boombox is ... playing "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye" over and over, every day that he's in the White House.

All hilarious, and I would happily join in if it happened.

But in reality, Trump loves the power and prestige of the position of POTUS. But he loathes the White House itself and probably Washington as a city. He very likely can't wait to get out of the place, and won't need to be pushed at all. And honestly, it seems like he never moved in in the first place. Just a token set of lifted shoes, some super-long jokey red ties, and a pallet of Treseme hair spray in a wardrobe somewhere.

He would much prefer to be in Trump Tower in NYC, Mar-a-Lago in Florida, or on one of his golf courses. He actually would miss Air Force One much more - it's his "private jet" currently, and he spends a lot of time in it these days. So I suggest offering him one last ride...then putting him in a sack, the sack in a dumpster, and dropping that from 30,000 feet into the Potomac.

Half of a hemisphere is a semihemisphere.

And to be annoyingly pedantic (per the ISF tradition) the Western Hemisphere isn't just the two American continents, it's also several European and African countries.

Ok, I didn't know that. Please pardon my apparent ignorance.

...ok.

Yup, I wrote it. I used this map as a reference. It appears to include the top of South America. So...whatever.

Yes, the Western Hemisphere is everything to the left of the red line in the center, including all the rest of South America as well.

Everything right of the red line is Eastern.

Everything above the yellow line is Northern, everything below is Southern.

They overlap, so every locations would be in at least two hemispheres (East or West and North or South)

ETA: And the answer of my post you responded to wasn't directed at you; I just assumed you made a mistake and was trying to point it out. But the other post that I responded to apparently decided that reading is not fundamental and decided to post pointless snark instead of understand the point, which is why for the most part I've given up ever attempting to post anything serious to this forum anymore.

Sweet! Geography lesson learned.

Thank God we can move on from that. Point being, it's not unique to the US, or even this hemisphere, semisphere, sphere sphere, quadrosphere, or ninjasphere. Just to get away from all spheres, 15-20% of all countries have birthright citizenship. There, easier that way.

On a different note, it appears that citizens are still anti-impeachment for the most part:

According to the Monmouth poll released Thursday, 35% of Americans support impeaching Mr. Trump and removing him from office, while 59% of Americans oppose that course of action. Only 41% of Americans want the House Judiciary Committee to open an impeachment inquiry against the president.

So police, fire, the FBI, freeways .... none of that is a positive government achievement?

1 - I'm pretty sure that you post you replied to was being sarcastic.
2 - Most of us don't think of agencies and infrastructure as being regulations.

Trump Tweets

The Economy is doing really well. The Federal Reserve can easily make it Record Setting! The question is being asked, why are we paying much more in interest than Germany and certain other countries? Be early (for a change), not late. Let America win big, rather than just win!

Anything to blame someone else.

Good Americans should support him because he's supporting Israel. All good Jews, and Americans for that matter, only want to do everything for Israel no matter the costs. Also, American Jews are Jews first and foremost and that's why they owe loyalty towards Israel above all else.

That's pretty much what you get from Trumps line of reasoning.
New name for 45. "Double Down Don".

Nobody heard of the northern and southern hemispheres and why they might matter? Who knew?
As an Australian can I just say we are pretty big on the southern hemisphere concept. Particularly when you can claim that something is the " biggest in the southern hemisphere", since there isn't much competition for those things down here

Yes, birthright citizenship is not unique to the western hemisphere, but it IS much more common in the Western hemisphere than the Eastern, which was Joe's point.

See the map at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_soli.

I mean it's pretty much literally only a thing in this hemisphere and everywhere else, including all of those glorious wonderful European utopias we're supposed to be emulating, it's not a thing.

Then perhaps we should be discussing what the words "literally only a thing in this hemisphere" means, eh?

ETA: Because looking at the map you had, and the map of the hemispheres it doesn't "literally" look like it's limited to either, whether you use E\W or N\S.

You have the biggest in the southern hemisphere? : :scarper:

Early on, I quipped Trump would love to trade Puerto Rico for Greenland.

Ummm...

NBC News reports: “President Donald Trump has been joking recently about trading Puerto Rico for Greenland.”

What makes jokes funny is the unspoken truth behind the joke. Kinda like “The Chosen One” joke.

We could, if you really have an addiction to pedantry.

You win 1000 internet points. Have fun with them.

Greenland is not quite an independent county though;it's seems to be a lot like Puerto Rico or the other US Territories. Self Governeing in many way, but not indepdendent.
But Denmark is not selling, the whole idea is ridiculous, and that a GOP group is actually fundraising based upon "Help Trump to Grow America" with T shirts showing Greenland as part of the US shows the GOP is beyond redemption.
It's more than a territory. It is not only self governing but has a constitutional provision for self determination. Denmark might be able to sign off on their claim to it and their role in its administration, but they couldn't just sell it. I would suggest it is somewhere between a territory and a commonwealth nation, but closer to the latter.

”Double down” - among my current list of gratingly hep lingo, used by seemingly everyone and their Speak & Spell.

Others on the hit parade:
  • Walk it back
  • Artisanal
  • Crafted
  • Hand-crafted
  • Unpack
  • Wheelhouse
  • Simply
  • In his/her/their lane
Gad.

Is a thing.
