Today, President Trump announced a safe third country agreement with Guatemala that will put human smugglers out of business and provide safety for legitimate asylum seekers.

Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!

Hard to tell whether he's actually Superman not wearing his cape these days.

Kicking France, Iran & Sweden into line, winning on the wall, record low unemployment, share market still setting records...

The question right now is, what's the incentive for people to vote against him?

USA is damned lucky to have such a president.

The Best People!
President Donald Trump's pick for the top spokeswoman job at the Treasury Department repeatedly spread conspiracy theories that suggested then-President Barack Obama was secretly a Muslim who was sympathetic to America's enemies.

Monica Crowley, who was appointed by Trump last week as assistant treasury secretary for public affairs, made multiple comments spreading these false claims on her personal blog and in at least one tweet between 2009 and 2015, according to a review by CNN's KFile team.

Because truth is a force of nature, and it's not nice to fool Mother Nature.

In view of the 2018 results and current polling, I think a better question is where trumpers think his winning votes are going to come from this time around.

Not once in that news conference, if you can call it that, did anyone ask what was supposed to happen when Guatemalans were seeking asylum from Guatemala.

US companies benefit from the WTO massively more than those from any other nation.

Corporate America will not let Trump do anything more than run his mouth on this one.

Yet that's lower than the 4% Trump claimed he could achieve during the elections. And its even less than last year's GDP increase.

Yup things are slowing down.

Plus revised numbers for previous quarters showing less growth than had previously been reported.

Funny thing how that happens. Smaller scale version happened in Michigan with the 11th congressional district. Kerry Bentivolio came a bit late as part of the tea party and proved to be useless to anyone. The district was considered a fairly safe Republican one. The Chamber of Commerce went after Bentivolio in a primary challenge. They replaced Bentivolio with another Republican named Dave Trott. Trott lasted two terms before retiring. The district then flipped to Democrats on the last election.

I was tempted to start a new thread...

Why in blazes do US elections start so danged *early*? For instance, in the case of Presidential candidates, for the better part of two years in advance they're on the hustings! It's like for half the time pols are in campaign mode. It's gotta impair actual work for which they were elected.

Can it not be possible to shrink this down to *at most* 6 months?

This forever electioneering is hard on the nerves!

A member of a conservative US group has been fired after projecting a doctored version of the presidential seal at an event featuring President Donald Trump.

A representative for the group, Turning Point USA, told the Washington Post that the fake seal was a mistake, the result of a rushed online search.

But while the group called the slip-up "unacceptable", they maintained there was no "malicious intent".

They went on-line to find an image of the seal, and that's the first thing they ran across?

Says something about their browsing habits, mebbe?

What if, instead of "the US presidential shield", the dimwit searched for "Trump presidential shield"?

You can probably guess what the search gives now, but what did it give a week ago?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the White House has a standard seal, picture of the President, White House, etc... in its press kit.

And failing that they could have found it quite easily anyway.

Even after all this hit the webz (as in fifteen minutes ago) I used four short words as a (Google) search term and the first result was wikipedia's article on the U.S. Presidential Seal, complete with images. The right ones.

They don't seem to have tried very hard ... if they actually did any looking at all.

The chances that the two would have close to the same file name is pretty slim to none.

So are the chances that they would have been looking through their stored images using lists of file names. Thumbnails would be more likely.

Even I use thumbnails when scanning for a particular saved image, and I have to make a point of doing that since I have everything set to display 'list with details' by default. I do check the file name as well, though, but I'm anal about that sort of thing.

Most average users don't do that anymore (use 'list with details' for displaying subdirectory files, that is). It's kind of an old school thing, I guess. Icons and thumbnails are the rule for everything these days for most younger users. And by younger I mean under forty or fifty.

If they grabbed an image out of their saved images in a hurry then the thumbnails of the two images would look very much alike.

If that's how they got it, then I can see a mistake like that being made.

If it was a mistake, of course.
