And the fuzzy green in the left talon is revealed by Colbert: It's cash, d'oh.
Damn you Sweden for letting your justice system act independently of politics.
You probably don't even have presidential pardons.
That the sort of Communist hellhole you get with monarchies.
Charles Leazott: “I’ve got to be honest, I am so tickled in the most petty way possible that the president of the United States, who I despise, stood up and gave a talk in front of this graphic. Whoever put that up is my absolute hero.”
Meet the man who created the fake presidential seal — a former Republican fed up with Trump
But, Leazott said, it’s him who gets the last laugh. A photo of Trump in front of his seal is now his computer background, and the person who used it at the event is “either wildly incompetent or the best troll ever — either way, I love them.”
As for the picture behind Trump, it has pixels, so clearly it's a projection not a poster.
I think it's quite credible that this was just the result of a defective on-line search. You must remember, after all, that just because Trump is, according to his authoritative account, the smartest person in the world, it remains remotely possible that among his supporters one could with sufficient effort find an idiot.
Senate Democrats tried to do something Thursday morning, by attempting to get consent to bring two bipartisan election security bills to the floor. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked both, saying that Democrats were bringing the bills to get a "political benefit"—the political benefit of not allowing Russia to take over our government. McConnell said that these bills, which would require the use of paper ballots and additional funding for the Elections Assistance Commission, are "partisan legislation."
I'm still seeing no reason to treat McConnell much short of being an outright traitor.
A member of a conservative US group has been fired after projecting a doctored version of the presidential seal at an event featuring President Donald Trump.
A representative for the group, Turning Point USA, told the Washington Post that the fake seal was a mistake, the result of a rushed online search.
...they... they get their own logo online? Why not get it at the source?
"They" are Turning Point. They are evidently a bit incompetent. Surely, they could have asked the administration for an official image.
(Of course, this may have been intentional anyway. Perhaps likely was.)

You sound surprised.Did McConnell just basically say that doing what's best for the country is not in the Republicans' best interest?

Very disappointed in Prime Minister Stefan Löfven for being unable to act. Sweden has let our African American Community down in the United States. I watched the tapes of A$AP Rocky, and he was being followed and harassed by troublemakers. Treat Americans fairly! #FreeRocky
Give A$AP Rocky his FREEDOM. We do so much for Sweden but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around. Sweden should focus on its real crime problem! #FreeRocky
I don't know how you guys do it in the US, but here in Scandinavia we have something called "Seperation of Power". The powers of the government is divided into the legislative branch, the executive branch and the judicial branch.
These branches are supposed to not interfere with each other. For example, the prime minister, head of the executive branch, can not interfere with the judicial branch. Nor can any other politician. This is seen here as fundamental to a working modern democracy.

“Intelligence Community disappointed Mueller didn’t investigate the Steele Dossier.” @TuckerCarlson @FoxNews ...And plenty of other things!
“Taken for Granted,” a wonderful new book by Gianno Caldwell on how Conservatism can win back the Americans that Liberalism failed, has my full Endorsement!

ETA actually, just thought of a way it could happen accidentally. He might have downloaded the fake one before and was then asked to find a real one and download it. So both images would be there side by side in his download folder and he simply picked the wrong one to show.
So remember how Trump and the republicans predicted huge economic benefits from their tax cuts?
Turns out that they weren't so beneficial after all.

The Commerce Department said on Friday that gross domestic product increased at a 2.9% rate last year, confirming an estimate which was published in March. The department’s annual revisions to GDP data also showed the economy growing 2.5% in the 12 months through the fourth quarter of 2018, down from the previously reported 3.0%.....On the campaign trail, Trump boasted he could boost annual GDP growth to 4%....The updated Commerce Department data also showed growth in the second and third quarters of last year was not as robust as previously estimated, and the economy grew much more slowly in the fourth quarter than had been reported in March....The data also showed growth in consumer spending peaking in the second quarter and decelerating sharply in the final three months of 2018....The downward revisions to the three quarters largely reflected downgrades to business investment, suggesting corporations likely did not plow their tax windfall back into their businesses.
So Trump and the republicans promise big benefits from the tax cuts. Those big benefits are at best mild, and whatever benefit they provided seems to be fading. Still, the deficit lives on!
