If you don't answer the question, you don't get counted because your census was returned "incomplete."
Sure. But what are the acceptable responses? Just yes/no? (Surely not “yes” equals “no”). “Maybe”?? “Depends”??

ETA. What if everyone says yes? Including illegals. Apart from skewing the totals, is anyone going to try to confirm the truth or otherwise of any form?

I was disappointed to find out the British ambassador has resigned.

I guess I was hoping the Brits would take a principled stand on this, since nothing in his reports were demonstrably untrue.

But perhaps moving on is the best thing as a practical matter.
By resigning now he presumably ensures that it's May, not Johnson, who will appoint his replacement. Given that May defended him whilst Johnson threw him under the bus, this seems like a sensible move.

The ambassador said it is no longer possible for him to act in the role as is required. Trump has made it untenable.

You're treating the census like it's a vote or a jury decision, something the controlling entity of has to justify throwing out participation in it.

The US Census Bureau collects census data for its own use. It can, with the context put it upon by Title 13, Chapter 5 of the United States Code use the data, including deciding what data is and isn't valid or useful, as it wishes.

Perhaps, but it can't put the citizenship question on the census.

We'll see if Trump snubs the SCOTUS. I doubt he will.

The 5-4 Conservative majority SCOTUS with two Trump appointed yes men already on it?

Yeah I'm sure he's terrified of crossing them.

However, if he does, it marks the beginning of the end of democracy in the USA.

Trump's already "marked the beginning of the end of democracy in the USA" four or five times before breakfast daily since he took office. This wouldn't even make the top ten for just this fiscal quarter.

Its being reported that Trump hosted a party at mar a lago for 30 people... Trump, Epstein, and 28 young women. Not creepy at all.

“Our company has grown, since Trump has taken control of the White House & the Presidency, in the sense that we have better opportunities now to do what we’ve been wanting to do for quite some time, and that is to create manufacturing jobs. I believe that President Trump has.....

....done a great job of reducing crime in the African American Community because more African Americans are at work today. Trump is not a Racist, he’s a Businessman. Because he’s a great businessman, he’s pushing for lives to be better.” Michael Brown, CEO, Hydromatic Tech

It's disgusting that Darroch had to do that, but a smart move on his part... proving that he really was the right person for the job.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around the idea of a world where Donald Trump is president of the US and Boris Johnson is PM of the UK.

:boggled:

Could be worse (it can ALWAYS be worse - SNCO Mantra), Maxime Bernier could be PM of Canada at the same time.

Every once in a while, I wonder who's being retweeted by the President.

I clicked Mr. Brown's LinkedIn profile. Apparently this is a very small business with less than 10 employees. Maybe as low as 1-3. The company website listed and linked from their LinkedIn redirects to a spoof / spam link that offers "Get Free Hack, Generator and Cheat Tool" in the Czech Republic. Their only product appears to be a lot of PR News, claims of technology, website hits and patents. They were ready for "beta testing" back in 2012. Maybe someone else can find a SafeMate Hybrid-Electric Clothes Dryer™ for sale anywhere?

The timeline on Mr. Brown's company reminds me a lot of the science threads on Brilliant Light Power and other energy scams. Lots of claims. No product. He even has similar youtube videos testing the product.

Mr. Brown doesn't appear to have even manufactured his primary product, let alone manufactured any jobs.

He chose to resign (though there maybe background shennaigans that we aren't aware off). It is in the interests of both countries that he moves on and the dust settles.

He was still right...

When I Googled the name, I found a company that makes, among other things, sewage pumps, which I found amusingly appropriate. I guess it was a different company with the same name. I should have included his name in the search.

Maybe he will be smart and actually run for political office. Given the general anti-Trump sentiment in Britain (Trump's approval rating there is around 26%), he'd get a lot of popularity as "the man who stood up to Stubby McBonespurs".
