Moderated Trump announces new concentration camps

Anther lie from a Trump supporter. Do any of you know how to be honest? Seriously. No one has accused Trump of setting in motion a plan to build death camps. That is an important difference that has been pointed out to you and your fellow travelers multiple times. Why do you persist in this lie? Is it because not backing down from a lie is what your dear leader would do?

This is why it's pretty much useless trying to have a discussion with a Trump-supporter. They do not discuss in good faith. They lie. Constantly. And they are so shameless that they don't give up on the lie even when overwhelming evidence is presented. It's part of the play-book. "Consvervatives" are abusing things like freedom of speech and the norms of debate in order to render those things useless. They do this because they know they cannot win an argument based on reality.

Stop pandering to Trumpophiles by offering them a place at the table. Treat them like the mental children they are and put them in a corner wearing a 'Dunce'-hat.

So what am I to make of the posts that scream Trumpenfuhrer despite him copying his policies from Australia, which had been implementing them since the John Howard Administration?

I know you're having yourself a grand old time with what you think is Liberal Hypocrisy Gotcha, but you have yet to show where anyone supports the inhuman policies of Australia, Italy, Poland, Myanmar or other.

You're doing a circle jerk version of a high-five-party.

NWO Sentryman: "Hey, hey, good one, NWO Sentryman"
No one is taking the straw positions you're enumerating. This is sorta logger, redux. Just make up positions to annoy the other side.

I think I'll make up a conservative position that none of you have voiced and respond to each paleo response with it.

Make up your minds, please. The first Nazi death camps were instituted around 1941. Concentration camps were in existence in 1936. If you're claiming these are concentration camps, don't fly into a tizzy when someone suggests you are drawing similarities to Germany in 1936.

We are drawing similarities to the Boer War.

No, actually, we are drawing similarities to the Yugoslavian civil war.

No, actually, we are drawing similarities to WWII Japanese camps.

Well, actually we are talking about Trump's kiddie konsentration kamps.

Concentration camps are different from death camps. That doesn't mean deaths don't occur in concentration camps. In fact, deaths occur often.

The US economy can't function without a large pool of migrant labor, and it can't completely stop illegal migration even if it tried with all its might.

Like it or not, this is the case.
Policy should be simple as screen for communicable diseases and violent crimes then come on in; get to work, pay your taxes, complain about traffic and Trump like the rest of us.

ICE is unnecessary government bloatware.

When did the internet just up and collectively decide it was gonna pretend it didn't understand what a comparison is?

A comparison isn't saying one thing literally the other thing. If two things are absolutely pedantically "well technically speaking..." identical there's no point in comparison.

Comparing things just means you see parallels in some aspects of the things, not that you're trying to declare one thing exactly the other thing.

Former uses of "camps" of a various "well ackshually..." definitions being used to hold groups of people are a fair point of comparison when we're talking about camps being used to hold groups of people without anyone literally saying "Donald Trump is exactly 1:1 in perfect ratio with Adolf Hitler and the current refugee and immigrant camps are exactly 1:1 perfect concentration camps/death camps/internment camps."

THIS AIN'T THAT ******* HARD PEOPLE.

The internet did not, Trump supporters did. These are the same people that claim racism doesn't exist because there aren't systematic lynchings anymore.

The US is running consentration camps.

Innocent children are suffering in these consentration camps.

Funny how that works. The US really is the worst country on the planet. You suck so much.

That must be why so many are seeking asylum in the US

They don't know about the concentration camps.

Maybe you're using the wrong tactic. Telling potential refugees what the US actually does to them might get them to stay away.

Then again, that's the actual point of the US system. Deterring asylum seekers and refugees by making life as miserable as possible for them.

...Believe that America 2019 is the same as Germany 1936.
I'm obviously not as intimately familiar with the Nazis as you and Grizzly Adams are, so I'm unsure of the timing. But maybe. At what point did Germany start instituting large-scale roundups of undesirables, insisting to the public they were only getting known criminals but in hindsight were clearly targeting anyone they could get away with? Was that 1936?

actually, it really is: Trump's constant rhetoric of building the wall / closing the borders has created a "now or never" run in many perilous countries to get into the US - that is according to people at the border interviewing the arrivals.

It is just insane for Miller and co. to think that anything they could get away with in mistreating migrants could rise to the level of what they have to endure in their home countries.
But I'm sure Trump could hire some Latin American hit squads for added deterrent.

How the US treats the weakest shouldn't be measured against how they are treated by drug lords.

Trump is just no filters. Europe does similar things, but hide behind nice platitudes and better PR. And for all the liberal insistence that they are the mature ones, well it doesn't bear out in reality.

And what do you do when Trump has the support of a substantial portion of the electorate, if not close to a majority? What do you do when Far Right/Ultranationalist parties enjoy more than 10% of the electorate in many countries? What do you do when mainstream parties move to the right? Liberals are moving away from democracy in the hopes that Technocratic systems could impose progress from the top down.

And the bolded just shows the fragility of liberalism, which is predicated in being the Right Side of History every time, and when things come crashing down, well...

Listen I've rolled my eyes from time to time at certain, rare, very extreme examples of Liberal's "Schrodinger's America," the horrible place of racism and fascism... that not letting someone into is somehow a terrible human rights violation as hard as I do at the much more common "Schrodinger's Immigrant" the lazy bum who wants into American to both steal your job and get on welfare.

Our political rhetoric is not in the best it's ever been right now. You can use that sad fact to "gotcha" people to score point and stay trapped forever in a bubble of whataboutism and hairsplitting... or you can look beyond the words at what people are actually trying to say.

Look at it this way. Imagine how bad what you are escaping must be to risk having your children ripped from your arms never to be seen again.

It's cynical bordering on inhumane to throw people's desperation back in their faces like that.

It's cynically brilliant. He's treating America like a Black Friday sell. He limits supply to create a rush, points at the rush as proof he needs to cut off supply.

And as I have tried to point out, trying to view this in a vacuum is not helping to find a proper solution. All across the world, there has been growing political unrest over the issue of immigration, and it's only going to get worse as Climate change ramps up. This has not been helped by the liberal narrative that every refugee is a Rocket Surgeon that is far better than the citizens of the country they are heading to come crashing down.

This is like the 8th or 10th fictional theme that you have introduced here. Do you have any evidence at all for any of this nonsense? It's making you look really, really bad here.

Allegation: someone is doing something bad to someone else somewhere else and lying about it.

Liberal response: Well they should try to be better people, then.
Conservative response: Well we shouldn't have to pretend to be better people, then.

It's moments like this that have driven me from being pretty far right to pretty far left.

Talk of Let's sit down and enjoy a variety of dinnerplates does not last long when reality is brought in. What we are seeing as the climate and global systems crumble is a surge in Every Man For Himself across the planet, and Nice Wise and Mature Europe is no exception.

Also, "Europe is doing bad things and Liberals think that Europe is a utopia that the US should emulate in every way, so why are you complaining when the US does similar bad things? It's what you wanted."
