The Trump Presidency 14

If you believed i was defending Trump in any way, shape or form after reading my comments than I'm not sure you actually read my comments. Trump may be the worst President in my lifetime if not in the last 100 years. Point is Hilary is a mediocre candidate. I'm tired of "competent". The fact we're settling for merely "competent" is ridiculous...

"Not Trump" is not satisfactory for me... We're judging against a president that's borderline fascist.

Competent. Boring. So? Compared to the chaotic Hell that's currently unleashed, that would be a *massive* improvement. The rest of the world would be mightily satisfied with "competent"! Then there could be re-established a measure of steadiness and predictability, and proper staffing throughout the Government.

Besides. We can't just conjure up the ideal, charismatic Super Prez out of thin air. Gotta pick from the lot that have thrown their hats in the ring.

The President is the chief administrator of a vastly complex governmental and political enterprise. "Not Trump" might be the best we can hope for. It would be vastly better than we've got now. If you need somebody to inspire you, join the church of your choice.
I'm an athiest. No thanks...

You all still seem to be missing the point. Don't get it confused, I voted for Hilary. Regardless she has no substance. She would have been better than Trump. That's obvious. A dog turd would be better than Trump. That's not my point...

Guess what: If "Not Trump" is not satisfying enough to get you off your ass to vote for a merely "competent" president, you just might wind up with four more years of a president that's borderline fascist.

Well then, just disregard my last comment. Sorry about that. ;)

Did you miss the part where I mentioned i voted for Hilary?

So Jared's throwing a party and no one's going? The Israelis aren't going to attend, the Palestinians aren't going to attend so as one Palestinian remarked, this is like going to a wedding only the bride and groom aren't there.

Maybe Ivanka and Jared can go and sell the Princes' financiers some time shares or energy drinks from Amway.

Now what would be really funny is if this thread's still going in 2025 as Ivanka starts her second term as President, succeeding daddy, of course.

I missed nothing. Your explanation of the 'up to the minute' intelligence excuse just doesn't wash.

He 'wants to know something'? What? He didn't know before? Even the way Trump puts his question indicates that he had not asked that question before or had not been given a casualty estimate. If he had, he'd have put his question more along the lines of "I asked my generals for an update on the casualty estimate".

As has already been stated, even FOX can see past Trump on this one. I repeat: you are bending over backwards to excuse away the fact that Trump, once again, LIED.

LOL! Is that how you see it?

You are making yourself look foolish.

That's not consistent with other things the stupid bitch claimed nor is it supported by anyone untainted by Trump. To be credible, it would have to be supported by one of the Congressional Democrats or military or professional staff who don't carry the presumption of dishonesty that comes with Trump.

That is SOP - nothing special to Trump: of course he still has to give the Green Light when everything is in place.

The point is: there was no new information that made Trump cancel the attack: all causality assessments were made, and they didn't change.
By putting the forces in place without properly making up his mind, Trump has cost the taxpayer millions and risked the lives of soldiers.

I have reached the point where I almost literally can't even imagine what that would be.

Embracing black, Latinx, and/or LGBT people. And making it a serious effort, like mandating that doctors and businesses cannot discriminate against the transgendered community, or taking firm steps against police brutality.

Seems obvious to me.

Yeah. No.

I can't imagine Trump doing any of that.

China gets 91% of its Oil from the Straight, Japan 62%, & many other countries likewise. So why are we protecting the shipping lanes for other countries (many years) for zero compensation. All of these countries should be protecting their own ships on what has always been....

....a dangerous journey. We don’t even need to be there in that the U.S. has just become (by far) the largest producer of Energy anywhere in the world! The U.S. request for Iran is very simple - No Nuclear Weapons and No Further Sponsoring of Terror!

Despite a Federal Reserve that doesn’t know what it is doing - raised rates far to fast (very low inflation, other parts of world slowing, lowering & easing) & did large scale tightening, $50 Billion/month, we are on course to have one of the best Months of June in U.S. history.....

....Think of what it could have been if the Fed had gotten it right. Thousands of points higher on the Dow, and GDP in the 4’s or even 5’s. Now they stick, like a stubborn child, when we need rates cuts, & easing, to make up for what other countries are doing against us. Blew it!

Trump seems to be saying that he thinks China, Japan, and many other countries should all be sending their own warships into the Straight[sic] of Hormuz.

I'm not sure that would work out very well.

Or that they should be paying the U.S. to do the same.

From: https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/24/media/ravelry-trump-ban-scli-intl/index.html
Ravelry, a community site that allows users to share ideas about knitting and textile projects, said in a blog post Sunday that it will remove users if they express support for Trump on its forum, profile pages or any other content.

ETA: They included a statement that they are not taking a pro-democrat or anti-republican stance, but that it is specifically Trump (and his support of neo-nazis and other bigoted groups) that it is the issue.

You wouldn't think a site dedicated to such a non-political hobby to have a problem with Trumpers. (Anyone have access to the site? Do they have any sort of general discussion threads where politics were openly discussed? Or did things just sort of 'creep in'?)

Is there really any "apolitical" sphere of social discourse at this point?

I thought "Oh look it's a picture of a cute kitten.... and people are arguing politics in the comment section" was so well established it had reached meme level at this point.
