The American Revolution was financed largely by French loans, which America refused to pay back because the French had their own revolution, and America said it owed money to the French monarch and not a bunch of dirty revolutionaries.

Not true. The US attempted to pay back the loans early on but had little money to do so since it did not have the power to tax initially. Because of this, it stopped payments before the French Revolution of 1789. However, in 1789, Congress was given the authority to tax and resumed payments through the early 1790's. The US paid off its debt to France in 1795.
