I don't deny that there is a problem, but far from an emergency. And it's all just a symptom anyways. Find out why the people are coming here illegally. Solve that, and the illegal issue would be greatly reduced.

He's found his two loopholes. He can raise tariffs at whim. He can declare "Emergency!" and make an end-around of Congress' power of the purse.

Look for him to continue doing this. Wait'll his best friends in the Household Appliances and the Automotive Sector see that he's planning to undo forty years of siphoning union jobs down across the border.

And he just guaranteed that Son-of-NAFTA doesn't get implemented.

This is a fringe Left talking point that you fell for. You believe there are large number of people sneaking over the US-Mexico border to get into Mexico. That's fringe lunatic stuff right there. Rise of deportations is a big reason for the drop in illegal aliens in the workforce. Those who leave voluntary do so by bus or plane so to say a wall would trap in illegal aliens desperately trying to leave is David Icke level quackery.

Hard to believe that with the Crisis on the Border, the Dems won’t do the quick and easy fix. Would solve the problem but they want Open Borders, which equals crime!

Mexico has taken advantage of the United States for decades. Because of the Dems, our Immigration Laws are BAD. Mexico makes a FORTUNE from the U.S., have for decades, they can easily fix this problem. Time for them to finally do what must be done!

In order not to pay Tariffs, if they start rising, companies will leave Mexico, which has taken 30% of our Auto Industry, and come back home to the USA. Mexico must take back their country from the drug lords and cartels. The Tariff is about stopping drugs as well as illegals!


90% of the Drugs coming into the United States come through Mexico & our Southern Border. 80,000 people died last year, 1,000,000 people ruined. This has gone on for many years & nothing has been done about it. We have a 100 Billion Dollar Trade Deficit with Mexico. It’s time!

Mexico won't directly pay for the tariffs, but they will 'pay' for the tariffs. That is apparent to the President of Mexico who has dispatched diplomats in response to Trump's negotiations.

In other words, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is acting like an actual grown up president; using diplomacy instead of bullying tactics when dealing with another foreign leader. However, in his letter to Trump, he also makes it clear he will not be bullied by Trump:

No, that's research by a very well respected non-partisan think tank, kid. As opposed to your completely unsubstantiated word - which would be worth exactly nothing even if it weren't specifically you saying it. Since you seemed to have missed it, unauthorized immigration from nearly ALL parts of the world is down. And according to pew, resulting from decreased arrivals NOT deportation. Here's politifact on the pew research claim.
