....In the meantime, my Administration is achieving things that have never been done before, including unleashing perhaps the Greatest Economy in our Country’s history....

....Democrat leadership is tearing the United States apart, but I will continue to set records for the American People – and Nancy, thank you so much for your prayers, I know you truly mean it!

He really is delusional isn't he.... he really thinks that the American people cant see the fact that The Emperor is wearing no clothes!

He really is delusional isn't he.... he really thinks that the American people cant see the fact that The Emperor is wearing no clothes!

The Emperor has never been wearing clothes and plenty of people still voted for him.

Trump, for all you can say about him, has been consistently horrible pretty much ever since he got the nomination. Not a lot of ups and downs with this due. He hasn't really undergone a character arc for people to reevaluate their opinions of him.

Sine he got elected in '16, it's not delusion to think he will again in '20 since, and I keep coming back to this, nothing's changed.

Baby Trump had a tantrum this morning, stomped out of a meeting with the Democrats. Schumer noted the WH had materials pre-prepared suggesting it was a planned pout.

NY Daily News:Trump storms out of infrastructure meeting with Democrats — Pelosi says he ‘lacks confidence’

I'm willing to bet someone gave Pelosi and Schumer a head's up on what to expect before Trump walked into the room.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Chuck and Nancy purposefully goaded him into throwing a temper tantrum right before the meeting just to get a point across, adding fuel to the fire of what they knew was coming their way in the meeting.

Get him all worked up and he becomes incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time, thus failing at his duties as president for the whole world to see.

Trump's temper tantrums are so easily triggered and predictable, making the idiot an easy target. Maybe they've decided the only way to beat this guy is to play his game... and be better at it.

Sure. And yet GW was reelected.

Good point. More importantly, Congress also stayed red.

However, it wasn't all that unpopular in 2004 at the time GW was re-elected.

Remember, the Iraq War started in March 2003, only 18 months after 9/11. The popularity of this war rode on the wake of a huge surge in nationalism and anger over the attacks on New York and Washington DC, and fuelled by the lies that were told about Iraq's WMDs. Those lies had not been fully revealed yet.

It wasn't until March 31, 2005 that the claims about Iraq's WMDs were proven to be falsehoods, when Robb-Silberman delivered his report from the "The Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction" It describes the failure to find WMD in Iraq as one of the "most public -- and most damaging -- intelligence failures in recent American history."

From then on, the war became unpopular and the Dems flipped both houses in the 2006 mid-terms.

If only the real world was like this.

It would be nice.

How about the supposed greatest nation on Earth get its own house in some semblance of order before thrashing about and beating up other countries?

Nice as that may sound... please, bear in mind that most of the warmongers are likely also people who are pointedly denying and ignoring homegrown terrorism or trying to claim that it's virtually all being done by the left and non-whites. More could easily be added, but... in short, these are people with world views that are built on quarter truths and lies.

More importantly, how does a strike on Iran reduce their willingness to support terrorism.

Bully logic.

It also begs the question of why not give Saudi Arabia a good thumping since violent Wahhabist/Salafist ideology is the greater threat by several orders of magnitude.

Shia extremists tend more towards "jihad" as an internal struggle.

Trump has financial interests with Saudi Arabia. They pay him a bunch, he reciprocates with things like just letting them have highly classified information.

Then, of course, there's the oil that they have that he wants to benefit from. The oil flow, at least, is related to American interests, even if it very much shouldn't be a reason to completely excuse them of everything horrible that they do.

2. Removes the nuclear option from the Senate vote and replaces it with a mandatory, very high majority requirement (say 75%), one that would effectively remove either party's ability to force an appointment. This would mean that BOTH parties would have to agree to an appointment, assuring that any appointment was politically neutral.

That would be very, very effective. Little chance of it happening, though.

Why is effectiveness often negatively correlated with likelihood?

About the itching of some to strike Iran. One of the arguments is Iran's sponsoring of international terrorism. How does this hurt the US to any meaningful degree? In terms of deaths, I get the impression that good old home-grown right-wing terrorism in the US does more harm to Americans than do the Iranians. In broader terms, US gun deaths inflicted by her own citizens eclipse those deaths caused by all external terrorists and all wars combined.

One 9/11 resulted in a war against Iraq (the wrong actor.) Americans inflict upon themselves the equivalent of at least TEN 9/11s per year, by body count.
How about the supposed greatest nation on Earth get its own house in some semblance of order before thrashing about and beating up other countries?

I think war with Iran is a horrid mistake, but this whole comparing 9/11 with gun deaths is just plain stupid. It's just a althered version o fthe "More people were killed in traffic accidents" argument.
By your argument that the us should get "its won house in order before doing anything in foreing affairs" argument, back in 1941 because the US had segregation, we should not have done anything against Nazi Germany or Japan.

SO we should have just done nothing after 9/11?

A fake temper tantrum can be a useful negotiating tool..sometimes it useful for the guy you are negotiating with to think you are on the verge of losing your temper even if you are not....but Trump has played that card way too often, very obvious it's an act nowdays.

How this morning’s hearing with Secretary Mnuchin would have gone in Fast Eddie World:

Representative Eddie: Good morning, Secretary Mnuchin. Before we begin, I recognize you are here voluntarily, and I thank you for your appearance today. To begin, I ask that you read into the record the US code requiring the IRS to release any individual’s return to Congress upon request. I’ve provided you with a copy.

Secretary Mnuchin: Alright. (reads aloud)
Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure.

Representative Eddie: Thank you. Do you see any reference to any legislative purpose?

Secretary Mnuchin: Well, I am in consultation with our legal...

Representative Eddie: I’m sorry. It was a simple question. And a simple yes or no will do.

Secretary Mnuchin: With all due respect, it’s not that simple...

Representative Eddie: I hate to interrupt, but I’ll take that as non responsive.

Having read the relevant US Code, are you now willing to order the head of the IRS to provide said return to Congress? Anything other than a yes or no will be deemed non responsive.

Secretary Mnuchin: On the advice of legal counsel, I’m not prepared to...

Representative Eddie: I again hate to interrupt. Please state clearly if you are prepared to order the release of the President’s tax return to Congress? Yes or no.

Secretary Mnuchin: At this time I’m not in a position to...

Representative Eddie: I’m sorry, I must interrupt again and take that as non responsive.

Sergeant at Arms, will you please approach Secretary Mnuchin.

Secretary Mnuchin, in front of you is an arrest warrant issued upon probable cause for violation of US Code Title 26 Subtitle F. I will ask you one more time to comply with the US Code as written. Do you now wish to reconsider and do so?

Secretary Mnuchin: At this time I’m not prepared to...

Representative Eddie: That’s fine. Sergeant at Arms, please take Secretary Mnuchin into custody based on the arrest warrant already issued for violation of US Code Title 26 Subtitle F.

What sort of chemical led to such a fantasmagorical reverie?

Don't tell this to anyone in Russia or China. Or anywhere else.

Possible exception: Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Nonsense. Trump planned his tantrum before going into the meeting.

A fake temper tantrum screeching he won't do anything about infrastructure until the investigations are dropped (aka blackmail)?

Then his fake temper tantrums will come back around to bite him in the ass.

Know when and how to pick your battles.

That's what I said.

Chuck and Nancy knew what was coming and decided to bump it up a few notches further.

He may have planned a snit ahead of time, but they succeeded at getting even further under his skin enough to cause him to act like a toddler in the rose garden.

I don't think they needed a heads-up to figure that out, nor did they need to do much to trigger a predictable temper tantrum.

I doubt it's fake, planned doesn't mean it had to be fake. He can't stand the fact not everyone is buying Barr's cover-up of Mueller's report.

All the guy thinks about is himself.
