The Trump Presidency 14

I'm still wondering how much of these tweets are Trump's own fair (orange) hand. The more they go on, the more they remind me of a ranting Nazi like Steve Miller.

Trump has previously shown that he has few higher ambitions and is not much smarter than a low-level mobster in flash suit and car. He is more prone to issuing thuggish, direct, wouldn't-want-any-harm-to-come-to-your-kids style threats, and looking after number one alone.

But the style and wording of this more recent stream of tweets is more higher-level political, in terms of dictatorship and social disruption. The scope is much wider than Trump appears to comprehend when he speaks. Rumours are that anyone trying to explain even the most basic social concepts to Trump usually fail to penetrate his stubborn pig-ignorance. So these high-falutin' concepts would not seem to be coming from Trump himself.

The president wants to address the nation from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the Fourth. He hopes it will become a tradition.

It will be one of the few times he doesn't get to control who is in his audience. I think he's in for a big surprise. Like his sheepish statement at the U.N. after being laughed at -- "Well, I didn't expect that reaction!"

We are right where we want to be with China. Remember, they broke the deal with us & tried to renegotiate. We will be taking in Tens of Billions of Dollars in Tariffs from China. Buyers of product can make it themselves in the USA (ideal), or buy it from non-Tariffed countries...

....We will then spend (match or better) the money that China may no longer be spending with our Great Patriot Farmers (Agriculture), which is a small percentage of total Tariffs received, and distribute the food to starving people in nations around the world! GREAT! #MAGA

Good heavens, has no-one yet told him that its not the Chinese who pay the tariffs, but the American consumer?

President @realDonaldTrump put forward 4 principles to protect American patients from the financial devastation of surprise medical bills. It's time for Congress to get legislation to his desk!

Principal one would have to be reduce the profit margin of the health industry. I'm betting the GOP will just pretend he never said this.

He doesn't care if it is paid by the American consumer. He knows he can lie about why prices are high to his base while bleating on about how he is punishing China. Authoritarians know that facts don't matter to their supporters.

Yep. Right wing parties around the world have embraced the Party of Stupid plan wholeheartedly. It's not just the US. Here in Ontario we've got the conservatives whining about how the new carbon tax has driven up gas prices. They don't stop to wonder how a 5 cent tax per liter resulted in a 25-30 cent jump in prices; nope, it's all the tax's fault!

I'm not so sure on this one. I think people notice when they're paying higher prices. The penny will drop pretty soon.

Probably. Then he either forget they told him, or he doubled down on it because he can't admit mistakes.
IMO, he knows very well that U.S. consumers end of paying. This is a deliberate misinformation campaign. I don't know if his supporters will hold that against him or not.

Farmers still support him, and their suicide rates and bankruptcies have spiked because of Trump's policies.

Same as power prices in Australia. Prices have rocketed then the conservative party blamed it all in the carbon price. They removed the carbon price when they got into power and prices barely dropped.
