I listened to most of the hearing today while driving, wanted to hear new and interesting info, not Senators grandstanding for the most unaware of their constituents... thought Hirono was guilty of that, cringe-worthy for me.

What new info were you hoping to hear?

I thought Harris did a great job exposing how lazy and useless the AG was throughout this whole thing, and how he had a consistent bias. I thought exposing that was definitely interesting. YMMV

I agree Harris was very competent in her questioning, was what I tuned in to hear, unlike Hirono.

I think that, once Trump and all his lying, corrupt grifters and toadies have been cleared, out (hopefully that will happen early in 2021), the USA needs to seriously look at separating the DoJ from the Executive branch, and making the AG directly responsible to either the Legislative or Judicial Branches.

Both Watergate and the criminal actions of this corrupt Trump administration have made it clear that it is too easy for a criminal president to put into place toadies who will protect him. The DoJ should be entirely separate from the President so that he/she has no power to hire or fire DoJ officials.

OMG the Republicans in the House Judiciary Committee are yelling constantly: Point of order over and over on every little thing, they are offering amendments, they are bringing up motion after motion, including multiple motions to adjourn and constant moves to reconsider. Then everything requires a roll call vote, then they claim the vote was on something else and then they start all over again.

Clearly they are simply trying to stall the committee until the clock runs out.

Nadler is not doing a good job threatening them with holding the committee over to come back after the vote they need to leave and take. He's not speaking as loudly and forcefully as all the interrupters. He should turn his mic up.

It's obvious the GOP members are all filibustering together.


The thing the GOP members are stalling over is allowing staff counsel to ask questions tomorrow and apparently Nadler wants Mueller to take Barr's place since Barr is refusing to come. The GOP is trying to block Mueller, I suppose.

Too bad, Barr refuses, fine, the Democrats will just call Mueller instead.


The Republican legislators (at least the ones in this committee) are so ******* dishonest.

Nadler press conference right now: step one get the un-redacted Mueller report. Subpoena Barr later.

I see the issue now. Nadler explains the problem is the 5 minute question period is allowing Barr to "filibuster for 4.5 minutes and give a non-responsive answer the next .5 minutes then it's on to the next questioner." That is certainly what Barr did today in the Senate hearing.

The point of having 'staff counsel' ask the questions the way the GOP asked question of Blasey-Ford in the RapeyMcRape face hearing is because the counsel can ask questions uninterrupted, and ask follow up questions.



Schumer is now giving a speech that Lindsay Graham is blocking having Mueller give testimony in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

I repeat, the GOP legislators are doing everything they can to cover up Trump's crimes. Dishonest pieces of ****.

Oh boy, he's really getting desperate now. He's just throwing as much **** at the wall as he can, and hoping that some of it will stick.

It might be worth pointing out (for those who don't know) that while Judicial Watch sounds like it might be an unbiased, independent body, it is actually no such thing. It was founded by Larry Klayman an American right-wing activist lawyer. He files frivolous lawsuits (including against the Clinton Administration) purely to obtain information via 'discovery'. Most cases brought by Judicial Watch or Klayman himself have failed. He is a racist, a conspiracy theorist; and like Roger Stone, Jerome Corsi, and Trump himself, he is a "birther". He has been heavily criticised by legal authorities and has actually been banned from appearing in two courtrooms.

The group's president, Tom Fitton, isn't much better, he's a climate change denier, a conspiracy theorist, and a supporter of Breitbart. He mostly lies for a living.
