So if I understand your position correctly, you're perfectly happy that your President...

- enables right wing hate groups
- divides the country along race lines
- promotes the separation of children from their families
- supports keeping those children in cages
- has lied to the American public over 10,000 times in this two years
- promotes the use of fossil fuels
- has used emergency powers to build a vanity monument
- is a verifiable criminal and fraudster
- is a confirmed misogynist and fine with assaulting women
- has alienated your traditional allies while rolling over for the dictator of a hostile foreign power
- has made your country a laughing stock to the rest of the world

Apparently yes.

Trump supporters and defenders are perfectly happy to prop up a global warming denier and racist wannabe authoritarian leader just to spite the libs.

A summary can be accurate while missing the "nature and substance" of the conclusions?

Yes. Right-wing propaganda especially seems to specialize in such, for that matter, from what I've seen. All the facts actually stated can be entirely true, but the choice of which facts to mention (cherry picking) can make something look almost exactly opposite of what's going on when the whole picture is looked at.

But then... for a number of us, that's actually exactly what we expected was going on with Barr's summary. As later posters have apparently noted... "lying by omission" would quite seem to apply.

I think, perhaps, that Zig hasn't read the report.

I would suspect that Trump supporters, in general, are simply much less likely to care about the actual contents of the report in the first place.

Which, IMO, says it all.

Trump will never get a fairer assessment in his life than what Mueller gave him.

If Conservatives don't want to know what a man like Mueller has to say about Trump, then it is because they already know.

Which was why Barr sat on the report for three weeks after putting out into the ecosphere his own spin. Whereupon Mueller almost immediately thereafter memorialized, for all time, his displeasure to Barr in a letter. A letter which normally is not created except in extremis due to the historical impact.

Interesting listening to what Chuck Rosenberg (former acting head of the Drug Enforcement Administration) had to say on Mueller's letter to Barr.

He characterised it as "going to paper", something that officials very rarely do. When they do, its because they are very angry that they, or their work is being misrepresented, so they "go to paper" to create documentary trail to make sure that in future there is a written document in the record.

He also said that the letter Mueller sent would have been the second letter he wrote to Barr; the first letter having been written when he was very angry, and it would have been put in his top drawer overnight, and pulled out the next day to have some colourful adjectives and expletives deleted before being sent. :eye-poppi

Bill Barr has lied, both by telling untruths, and by omission. He is a straight up political actor for Trump, essentially he has taken the credibility of the DoJ and flushed it down the toilet.

I don't understand how this surprises anyone, after all, Barr has a history of covering up illegal activity.

I was anti the GOP establishment before I was anti Hillary. Giving them the finger was a once in a lifetime opportunity. But if I thought for a moment that our institutions could not handle Donald Trump, I would never have voted for him. I consider the past two+ years a clear vindication of my assessment. 5/7 perfect score, would vote again.

I kinda stop considering a candidate as soon as I feel compelled to ask, "Can our institutions keep this guy in check?" I mean, maybe it's just me, but I regard asking that question as a little red flag.

I know some like the feeling of living on the edge and that's okay. There are many sports and activities that feed the need for thrill and danger. I'd just prefer that voting wasn't one of them. Have you considered skateboarding? Maybe skydiving?

Bill Barr comes from the old school of conservative corruption, where political hacks go to great lengths to maintain an air of respectability. In the age of Trump lackeys that are flamboyantly unfit for their positions of power, someone like Barr seems like an "adult in the room", but that's just an illusion.

Barr has always been a legal hatchet man for corrupt presidents. His work as AG under Bush Sr. averted the real possibility of scandal and impeachment over Iran-Contra. Now he's back trying to make Trump's various legal issues go away.

It's a breath of fresh air that Mueller called him on his obvious crap. Don't know if that will change anything, but it does my heart good.

I can respect people who live on the edge, but not those who make me live on the edge.

Whatever it takes to drive the followers of the other tribe (angry Democrat mob) into insanity.

When I read this, I assumed you were mocking ThePrestige, but maybe you're serious. Are you?

Why didn’t President Obama do something about Russia in September (before November Election) when told by the FBI? He did NOTHING, and had no intention of doing anything!

NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION. Besides, how can you have Obstruction when not only was there No Collusion (by Trump), but the bad actions were done by the “other” side? The greatest con-job in the history of American Politics!

Boo! Why did my predecessor not stop me?

Unhinged, and 100% wrong.

Hey, at least he doesn't wear a tan suit!

Or play too much golf. Oh, wait....

Here's a copy of the Mueller to Barr letter (fingers crossed that this link is good, had a bit of trouble with it just a moment ago):

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.ne...=3fe2d793076fd181496c614f1d91826e&oe=5D2AD53C

and

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.ne...=3f9c683ec1637207683f615fba721bca&oe=5D30D057

this is unambiguous: Mueller wanted his Summaries released, and Barr did not want to do that. Pretending that what he did release was ok with Mueller is plainly false.

Hey. I didn't bring you up here for nothing. I'm jumping out of this plane, and you're coming with me.

:D

What's the use of living on the edge if I can't see the terror on the faces of others?

Two words: Mitch McConnell

Yup.

When Sen. Mitch McConnell was told by then–CIA Director John Brennan before the 2016 election that Vladimir Putin and Russia were attempting to interfere with the goal of assisting Donald Trump, McConnell’s response took him aback, according to Greg Miller, a Washington Post reporter who has just released a book about Putin, Trump, and the election. The majority leader said he wouldn’t sign on to any condemnation of Russia’s actions and that if the administration went public with the intelligence, McConnell would in turn call out Brennan as a partisan intervening on behalf of Hillary Clinton, Miller colorfully revealed in a CNN interview Tuesday.

Real patriot that one.
