Everything I’ve seen seems to indicate Trump received and welcomed Russian help, and rewarded their efforts. He looked at US investigators as enemies and Russia as an ally against them. He also definitely committed obstruction and the debate was whether or not Mueller or Congress should handle it. Mueller tried to clear Trump if obstruction but was unable to do do. The best piece of news in it was there wasn’t enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump actively helped the Russians in aiding him.

I think this is worse than anyone thought it would be.

I’d like to see them push impeachment just to get those who think his conduct is acceptable on the record.

Yeah. The report seems to clear Trump on collusion with Russia - although not for the lack of trying on the Russian side - and literarily convicts him of obstruction of justice.

Can someone remind me what was teh charge Nixon and Clinton were impeached on? What does "OBJ" stand for again?

On Colbert tonight:

Colbert: "Did Barr read the same report we did?"
Neal Katyal: "No"

Katyal from Wiki:
served as Acting Solicitor General of the United States from May 2010 until June 2011. Previously, Katyal served in as an attorney in the Solicitor General's office as Principal Deputy Solicitor General in the U.S. Justice Department.

Here's a handy visual of how much has been redacted:

@TuckerCarlson

If dozens of Federal prosecutors spent two years trying to charge you with a crime, and found they couldn’t, it would mean there wasn’t any evidence you did it - and that’s what happened here - that’s what we just learned from the Mueller Report.

The Mueller Report is perhaps the single most humiliating thing that has ever happened to the White House Press in the history of this Country. They know they lied...Many reporters lied about Russia Collusion and so much more. Clapper & Brennan, all lies

Boomerang Update: The FBI Tried and Failed to Entrap Trump

Larry C. Johnson said:
The Mueller Report is damning of the FBI and reveals circumstantial evidence that the FBI was engaged actively as early as September 2015 in trying to entrap Donald Trump in a web of Russian conspiracy. [...]

It was not Trump that directed Felix Sater to go get a deal in Russia. IT WAS SATER BRINGING THE DEAL (or trying to) to Donald Trump. A key fact not included in this paragraph was the fact--yes, established fact--that Sater was a fully signed up FBI informant. He helped the FBI make multiple cases against the Russian mob and Russian spies. Please go back and re-read the pieces I wrote on Sater[...]

Trump Tweets

Kimberley Strassel should get the Pulitzer. She is a treasure (and I don’t know her) who correctly called the Russia Hoax right from the start! Others who were soooo wrong will get the Prize. Fake News!

I checked what the report says about Goldstone setting up the Trump Tower meeting (page 119 of PDF):

Goldstone understood [redacted] a Russian political connection, and Emin Agalarov indicated that the attorney was a prosecutor. Goldstone recalled that the information that might interest the Trumps involved Hillary Clinton [redacted]

In clearer words and as we knew already, he made it up.

Skimming the ToC this is mostly rehashing the laughable Putin Trollfactory and Potemkin Village indictments and a lot of process crime details and he-said-she-said minutiae. Completely uninteresting and predictable (as proven). Have fun tea leaves reading, cultists.

Could this report at least stir up a Republican primary with some viable candidates?

ETA: It's probably bad to admit this, but when I clicked on the searchable version just the table of contents makes me feel incredibly weary. I don't have the stomach for it. It's too depressing. For now, anyway.

Well, here's one for you to read

II. RUSSIAN "ACTIVE MEASURES" SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

starts on page 14..

The sheer details that Mueller was able to find is just extraordinary, right down to actual minute details of what the Russia Facebook trolls did...

Instagram accounts had hundreds of thousands of U.S. participants. IRA-controlled Twitter accounts separately had tens of thousands of followers, including multiple U.S. political figures who retweeted IRA-created content. In November 2017, a Facebook representative testified that Facebook had identified 470 IRA-controlled Facebook accounts that collectively made 80,000 posts between January 2015 and August 2017. Facebook estimated the IRA reached as many as 126 million persons through its Face book accounts. In January 2018, Twitter announced that it had identified 3,814 IRA-controlled Twitter accounts and notified approximately 1 .4 million people Twitter believed may have been in contact with an iRA-controlled account.

In May 2016, IRA employees , claiming to be U.S. social activists and administrators of Facebook groups, recruited U.S. persons to hold signs (including one in front of the White House) that read "Happy 55th Birthday Dear Boss," as an homage to Prigozhin whose 55th birthday was on June 1, 2016

IRA Facebook groups active during the 2016 campaign covered a range of political issues and included purported conservative groups (with names such as "Being Patriotic ," "Stop All Immigrants," "Secured Borders," and "Tea Party News") , purported Black social justice groups ("Black Matters ," "Blacktivist, " and "Don't Shoot Us"), LGBTQ groups ("LGBT United"), and religious groups ("United Muslims of America").

Throughout 2016, IRA accounts published an increasing number of materials supporting the Trump Campaign and opposing the Clinton Campaign. For example, on May 31, 2016 , the operational account "Matt Skiber" began to privately message dozens of pro-Trump Facebook groups asking them to help plan a "pro-Trump rally near Trump Tower."

To reach larger U.S. audiences , the IRA purchased advertisements from Facebook that promoted the IRA groups on the newsfeeds of U.S. audience members. According to Facebook, the IRA purchased over 3,500 advertisements , and the expenditures totalled approximately $100,000.

During the U.S. presidential campaign , many IRA-purchased advertisements explicitly supported or opposed a presidential candidate or promoted U.S. rallies organized by the IRA (discussed below). As early as March 2016, the IRA purchased advertisements that overtly opposed the Clinton Campaign. For example , on March 18, 2016, the IRA purchased an advertisement depicting candidate Clinton and a caption that read in part, " If one day God lets this liar enter the White House as a president - that day would be a real national tragedy." Similarly, on April 6, 2016, the IRA purchased advertisements for its account "Black Matters" calling for a "flashmob" of U.S. persons to "take a photo with #HillaryClintonForPrison2016 or #nohillary2016." IRA-purchased advertisements featuring Clinton were, with very few exceptions , negative. IRA-purchased advertisements referencing candidate Trump largely supported his campaign. The first known IRA advertisement explicitly endorsing the Trump Campaign was purchased on April 19, 2016. The IRA bought an advertisement for its Instagram account "Tea Party News" asking U.S. persons to help them "make a patriotic team of young Trump supporters " by uploading photos with the hashtag "#KIDS4TRUMP." In subsequent months, the IRA purchased dozens of advertisements supporting the Trump Campaign, predominantly through the Facebook groups "Being Patriotic ," "Stop All Invaders ," and "Secured Borders."

Holy snappin' duck-****.

Trump will keep rambling on "Collusion Delusion", no doubt - even though the report states in significant detail how Russia actively helped him during the election.

As a side note is naming the agency in charge of such activity Internet Research Agency a tongue in cheek?

That this was not instantly met with a massive security response and punitive measures against the Russians is all the evidence anyone needs for, not collusion, but treason. Epic fail in legal duties mandated for the office. Fox News and the entire right can bloviate all they like; Trump's treason was committed publicly.

So the real scary issue is how to recover nearly half the population that fully subscribes to outright white nationalism. Facts don't help. Religion makes it worse. Free vacations in Siberia?
