The Trump Presidency 13: The (James) Baker's Dozen

I will reiterate that even though I read The PDJT's Twitter feed every day, I do like seeing the Tweets here just to keep everything in context. And that I'd prefer to see them in "quote" paragraphs rather than cleartext as it's sometimes difficult to distinguish between the Tweets and Captain Swoop's own contributions. It would also be much easier to visually skip over the quotes for those who don't care to have to read and process the cleartext every time.

I like the fact that Captain Swoop post Trumps tweets, because he really tends to only post thea really, really stupid ones.

I think he's actually posting all of them.

I appreciate Captain Swoop providing them here as I don't have a Twitter account nor will I follow the Big Orange Baby's account. Like I pass over a few posters here whose posts I find tedious or simply trollish, you can do the same.
Random PSA: you can read tweets withoit the app, if you just have the url of the account you're trying to reach.

Trump Tweets

“The lowest average jobs number for any President since 1951, 4.1%. Economy doing great. If the Democrats win, it is all over.” @Varneyco @foxandfriends
I agree!

And plenty of other readers of these threads have thanked him for providing a welcome service. Should your tedium take precedence over their appreciation?

The forum software provides a mechanism which will remove his posts from your view. Have you considered taking advantage of that?

Swoop makes posts other than re-posting tweets. Putting him on ignore would lose his original contributions.

It would be nice if you could ignore according to title or other attributes, so Swoop could title each tweet post with "Trump Tweet" or something, but I don't think we can ignore anything but threads or posters. I can totally see that those who get tired of seeing Trump's tweets would be a bit annoyed.

I appreciate the effort, but some days I skip Swoop's posts when I see they are Trump tweets. The tweets get on my nerves on occasion, but I nonetheless appreciate Swoop's efforts.

Remember when the leftists claimed that conservatives could not do comedy?

Now they are in complete pants wetting mode because Our President retweeted a hilarious video of Biden rubbing Biden's shoulders.

Won, the meme wars are...

I like that he quotes an incoherent sentence. "Lowest average jobs number"? I'm guessing he means unemployment.

Nope, that's just another example of what Nolan Dalla said in the article that was previous posted: Why Do So Many Brits Dislike Donald Trump?

He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.

Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.

Like all trolls...

“And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist.”

Hahahahahahahahaaa! Stops... takes a breath.....Hahahaha!

That sound you just heard was the laughter of millions of Irish and other victims of British hegemony.

Thanks for the legitimate laugh.

The British side with Cromwell, Trevelyan and similar thugs.

It's the result of an inherent conflict between the 5th Amendment saying you cannot be forced to confess to a crime, and the IRS having a legitimate public need to know how much money you made to insure that you are taxed fairly. Courts have said that the IRS is not supposed to investigate crimes unrelated to income and taxes, and should not be coordinating with law enforcement for that purpose.

As a practical matter, they are going to find a way to rat you out if you confess to a specific crime.

My layman’s understanding is that the IRS can’t say to law enforcement “this guy is earning money illegally.”
Capone would have lived free if he paid taxes and listed the income as bootlegging.
The feds would need a lot of evidence to get the returns and use them to build a case.
If Congress feels it has cause to subpoena the returns based on evidence it can

You're completely missing the point. You're proposing to make an exception here, and what's stopping a slew of ever laxer rules about what constitutes an exception? And what judge would say "well, you broke the law, but Trump's an exception"?

Seriously, why is it so hard to understand?
Someone is unclear on the concept of law.

The best Trump can hope for is to delay. As always, he can tell his lies over and over during the delay. His supporters will accept and repeat the lies.

Thus spoke Captain Obvious.

Gee, the Spittle soaked partisan democrat party idiots in Congress are weaponizing tax returns now, because orange man bad.

Yes, wasn't that a statesman like thing for the President of the United States to post as an official statement? (Which is what his tweets are)

Well... news drop time.

A Trump supporter with a rifle has been turning up at Arizona churches looking for Jeff Flake

Does anything more need said? This is the kind of thing that makes me want to deny Trump a platform to project his vitriol from, problematic as that would be in its own right.

Trump supporter Patrick Carlineo charged with threatening to kill Rep. Ilhan Omar. This is at least the third Trump supporter arrested for threatening or planning to kill his political enemies.

Weaponize?
If every major party nominee for 40 years has released theirs. And if President Trump’s returns Are above board and legal, how can his returns be weaponized?

Statesmanlike is near the top of the list of things he could not do if his life depended on it.

His tweets are not official statements, just ******** rubbish.

Trump condo sales to Russians are not money laundering conspiracies just overpriced cash sales (and in the big picture not that much money or that much overpriced).

The meetings with Russians, including at Trump Tower, were just bungling amateurs feeling out the options.

Once the above is clear then everyone can move on. There are plenty of things wrong with the administration without having to keep dragging up old stories which just don't have the legs.

With Trump's fragile ego, the fact that it's going to clearly show he's not as rich as he claims to be would be seen as an attack by him. It's also going to be at least ethically dubious since the US tax code is riddled with loopholes for the rich. Seeing what the rich are able to legally get away with always pisses off the public since they don't anywhere near the same breaks and need them more.

A written statement by the president isn't official?
