Absolutely loved Adam Schiff's reply to the Republicans saying he should resign.

Damn!

Good to see an honest politician (an endangered species these days) sticking it to the Party of Shame.

When you put all those things together one after the other, it certainly points up how corrupt and totally bereft of any moral fibre the current crop of senior Repugnican Senators are.

Nunes' Cow looked very sheepish sitting next to him Schiff.

Yes, we should, and plenty of them; and if you have been paying attention (as I have been) you will have known that Mueller has handed off investigations to SDNY, and to the VA and DC Federal prosecutors.

As the judge in the secret country/company proceeding said yesterday, the Grand Jury empanelled by Mueller (which is empanelled until at least the end of July) have been "continuing robustly"

By my count, at least another four indictments could be coming in the next few weeks.

The judge said that? You sure about that?

Well, considering that the special counsel’s team have been withdrawing from the cases I am going to totally take your word for that.

My mistake, I misread the article. The prosecutor actually said it.

However, it makes not a jot of difference who said it; it was said in court and the fact is the Grand Jury is still sitting, and things brought up and handed off by Mueller are still being investigated.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...d-jury-is-continuing-robustly-prosecutor-says

"A grand jury investigation started by Special Counsel Robert Mueller continues “robustly,” even though his report on his probe into potential Russian collusion with President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign has been delivered, a federal prosecutor said in court on Wednesday.

The disclosure by David Goodhand, a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington, came during a federal court hearing in Washington over whether the identity of a foreign government-owned company that refused to comply with a grand jury subpoena should be revealed to the public. The company took its fight to the Supreme Court, which on Monday declined to intervene".

1-800-TELL-FBI

That's the number you are looking for to let the FBI know that 40 of their agents, 19 prosecutors and the former head of their bureau missed the key information that you have.

No need to thank me, glad I can help.

No. There is a difference between deciding not to charge someone and saying nothing happened. Remember, collusion isn't a crime.

I'm watching the CSPAN rerun of today's Congressional hearing on Russian interference in the election and international influence. CSPAN: MARCH 28, 2019 Hearing on Russian Interference Tactics (available online and the transcript)
After taking a break for floor votes, the House Select Committee on Intelligence continued its hearing on Russia’s election interference tactics. Witnesses included Michael McFaul, the former U.S. ambassador to Russia, who answered questions on a number of Russian intelligence tactics, including an increasingly cozy relationship between the nation’s political and business leaders.

Nunes looked like an idiot asking the previous US Ambassador to Russia McFaul if he knew this long list of people looking for some gotcha but there wasn't any.
User created clip: Devin Nunes and Mike McFaul Play "Who Do you Know?"

Nunes is getting ripped a new one by Demings for insultingly telling the witnesses to remember they were under oath. These were experts called in to testify, not people being scrutinized for their actions or oversight of their departments.

Apparently at some point all the Republicans on the committee left.

I'm about an hour in.

It has been fascinating to listen to people who actually know what they are talking about with regard to Russia and Putin, and the dirty business tactics they employ, speak an length and in some detail about it.

It has also been disconcerting to see that the Republican side just do not appear to be much interested in this. Nunes' behaviour was reprhesensible; he and his colleagues are clearly uncomfortable with the subject material...

I wonder why that is?

They would have a point if the 9/11 Commission and NIST reports were hidden from public view.

Yes, because nothing says "skeptic" like taking at face-value the summary of an investigation as provided by a subordinate of the person being investigated.

The time has come to set childish things aside.

Ouch.

I've been out of town, how is the Mueller investigation going? should we expect lots more indictments before he is done like the Resistance said?

Yes, but not from Mueller. He's already indicted dozens and got, what, seven people in jail?

Anyway, welcome back. I do note that you didn't use that time to reflect upon your positions.

I've been reading up on Seth Abramson's twitter posts, and although I dislike their delivery/style, I might just see if Mueller She Wrote has a new episode up on the zOMG Trump Totes eXonerated report everyone seems to be misinterpreting.

Since I see Trump's fairweather friends are coming back to the thread, I suppose discussion might pick up a notch here, too.

I'd like to hear from those who seem to doubt Russia intervened in support of Trump, what their explanation of Russia's actions might be.

We know some things about the actions Russia took concerning the 2016 election (see my last post). If not to support Trump's campaign, what is a plausible explanation of all of those actions?

Honestly the idea the Russians just launched a massive across the board disinformation campaign and Trump won because his supporters fell for it more is not... completely insane.

FreedomEagleBlogger.rus tells Grandpa the Hillary has a secret child sex pizza parlor and he believes it and forwards it on to 10 of his friends one of whom shoots the place up a few weeks later.

LiberalMommyBlogger.rus shows Grandma a gif of Trump taking his MAGA hat off and his hair coming with it, she chuckles at it but goes about her day.

I don't think that's what happened, there probably was at least some general "muddying of the waters" (propaganda campaigns just in general work better if you do that) but overall I think it was an attempt to get Trump in office, but it's not an absolutely crazy idea.
