I think the point is that Melania doesn't want to be FLOTUS and ducks out on her "job" whenever she can. Not that the conspiracy theory is true.....

I was looking at the recent issue of Good Housekeeping magazine yesterday and noticed a sidebar on the table of contents page. They said they were getting comments from people that since Michelle Obama had been on a recent cover (with an inside article) where was Melania? "We want Melania." Well, the GH people said they had contacted Melania's communication team, but that people would have to tweet Melania and ask her to ask for the coverage.

Sounds to me like she's blowing them off. GH is too down market for her?

An NFL team may deal with large sums of money, but aren't teams fairly visible with regards to financing? (I know they keep some of their finances murky, but things like player contracts, ticket sales, etc. are pretty easy to calculate, and there'd be a lot more attention if the team was involved in any sort of financial deception.)

I figured the better money-laundering schemes would involve businesses that don't dominate the news at least 1 day a week.

Just think of the sale of options to season tickets. Then there are Concessions, having fake assistants on the payroll...

and, of course, no one expects them to make a profit, so there isn't an expectation of a lot of tax revenue in the first place.
 
Germany is rebuffing Trump on blocking Huawei, and it looks like it won't increase its Defense Budget either to bolster their NATO commitment.

It's been established that Trump is a fan of action movies, often with everything except the action edited out so he doesn't have to worry about dialogue or plot. Action movies usually end with the bad guy dead. No arrest, no trial, no prison. Just "Bang!" and it's over. Reality clearly needs to be more like that.
My poorly educated action movie-loving 79 year old father has often expressed the opinion that the police should have the authority to perform summary executions.

I'm pretty sure this one started as a joke, along the lines of telling Birther Trump, "Hey, see how stupid you've sounded for the last decade?" We have actual honest-to-god CTists in power now, so mocking them using their own language is somewhat appropriate.

Trump could try to use those as part of his money laundering schemes, but concession money passes through a lot of different people's hands, and a sudden increase in payroll for 'fake' employees might be noticed.

I'm not saying its impossible to launder money through an NFL team, just that the visibility of the NFL in general (combined with the fact that the team would have already had years of financials to compare to) would make it a less-useful option than (for example) setting up a new business in a less visible market.

The WAPO had an article about acutllay winning is not that all important to Trump, but the appreance of winning is.
