I couldn't agree more. There's nothing like religion and the conviction of its adherents that they are doing God's will, to bring out the inner hate in people. It's "us vs them" writ large.

Oh, gonna go right ahead disagree, as i have expertly shown in this thread and others, it is Atheists and their storm trooper thugs, the anti-religionists who are the real fanatics, and who have brought genocide to the industrial age.

For pete's sake, the estimate range as high as 1.8 million people in internment/reducation camps, and you have the temerity to suggest that Religious people are the problem?? Preposterous

Stalin called that Tuesday, Mao called that a busy morning, Xi calls that today.

Might want to check on what the industrial Age means before you start polluting the thread with more faux historical claims, and calling the Lebanese war simply about religion is profoundly wrong, but at least that one was within the last 400 years, so great success!

Meh.

You are just using "Industrial Age" as a way of excluding inconvenient truths and arguments. Its like trying to claim shipping has always been safe by drawing a line above the Titanic and working upwards.

The reality is that, in the history of man, religion has been the single, most common motivator for war and the infliction of human suffering and misery, and Christian Churches have been at the forefront.

The reality is that Atheists turned the 20th century into genocidal nightmare of unprecedented proportions. The fact that you had to go back 400 years for pathetic whataboutism is very, very telling.

You are looking into the abyss and it is staring back. Atheists are the new monsters. Take a look at what is happening in China, today.
 
Unless you and your outrage can reach into the highest levels of Chinese government this is all hot air. Maybe you could arrange an uprising within China to topple the gov and prove them right for taking out fringe groups for their own survival.

Justify the very thing you are jousting with.

Here your outrage does nothing for the oppressed Chinese people. You need to take this fight to where it makes positive changes.

Genocides are an 'US' vs 'THEM' nightmare and religious folk have been just as guilty as atheists. E.g.: The Californian Genocide against Native Americans between 1846 and 1873 perpetrated by White Christian settlers when the Native population in California declined by 80% during the period.

Of course, TBD is committing a very common fallacy called "cum hoc ergo propter hoc", a.k.a. "correlation does not imply causation"

His contention is that, because brutal dictators such as Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin were all atheists, that its their atheism that caused them to commit genocide.

Well, it is also a fact that Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin wore moustaches... so I could make a correlation, that moustachioed dictators were likely to commit genocide, and this correlation has every bit as much validity as TBD's. In fact, my correlation is more valid, since I can point to another brutal dictator who was moustachioed, and committed genocide; Saddam Hussein. He was a Sunni Muslim who believed in God (and invoked his name on many occasions). Therefore, he was NOT an atheist....

Oh Dear..... How sad...... Never mind!
