horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett

CHICAGO (CBS) — Jussie Smollett paid two brothers to stage an attack against him, directed them to buy items used in the alleged assault and actually rehearsed it with them, sources say.

Sources say at least one of the brothers bought the rope used in the incident at Smollett’s request. The sources also say the “Empire” actor paid for the rope, which was purchased at the Crafty Beaver Hardware Store in the Ravenswood neighborhood the weekend of Jan. 25.

The brothers, who were questioned by police this week before being released, were paid $3,500 before leaving for Nigeria and were promised an additional $500 upon their return.

They left for Nigeria later in the day on Jan. 29, after the attack.

Sources said one of the brothers held the rope and poured bleach while the other wore a plain red hat and yelled slurs at Smollett.

The sources say the red hat was bought at an Uptown beauty supply store and that the attack was supposed to happen before Jan. 29. The brothers told detectives the three men rehearsed the attack days prior to it happening.

This is odd as well. Why would they need to rehearse, and yell?

You don't need to act the scene out at all.

You don't need two extra people. You don't need a red hat.

You only need one extra person, and just to buy the rope maybe.

Jussie just needed to put a rope on himself, scratch himself, and sprinkle a little bleach on himself, and then tell the story.

The only reason at all that you would need the performance art, is if it was supposed to be seen. Supposed to be on camera or seen by witnesses.

Did they screw up and not realize that the camera was not pointed at them?

I guess that's what happened.

But if he had done that he would either run the risk of it being caught on camera or, if he'd done it before he left the house, run the risk of his neighbours seeing him in that state
 
First rule of hoax club is that you need to be hopelessly vague on everything other than who is responsible and the emotional impact.

At 2AM in the freezing cold and wind? Very unlikely that anyone would be out walking, and apparently no one was out there except these three clowns.

I thought about that too. Was Jussie's manager supposed to hear it? Hell, was his manager threatening to leave? Weird.
 
The only reason for the red hat is for it to be seen, imo.

My guess is that the hat was part of the story until the video stills came out.

For whatever reason, there's no red hat on the stills.

Either they hadn't put it on yet, or they'd already taken it off.

It would only take one witness to screw up his narrative. One neighbour in the communal hallway, on passer-by close to his house. Even when it's -5C at 2am you can't rely on literally nobody witnessing you leave a place and walk off down the road.

How do you know it wasn't recorded? I'm confident that the police knew whether they were investigating an assault or a hoax early on, probably from the first day. The police being selective and circumspect about revealing available evidence isn't that unusual.

Even if they thought it was an actual assault, leaking that it wasn't recorded put Jussie Smollett in the position of either confirming or contradicting the evidence they were probably concealing. If the police thought it was a hoax, then it was certainly possible for it to be a "false flag" in the sense that Jussie wasn't in on it and was actually attacked and it was meant to make Trump supporters look bad.

The Brothers:[yells MAGA at him]**This one's on the house!
[Drapes the cord around his neck and twists it to give him a light native american burn. Then they walk off. ]*
