horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett

We were told that the FBI is working with CPD. We were not told about in what capacity. FBI might be shadowing CPD for every single bit of this case. They might make suggestions to CPD about what to look for with a warrant. FBI might have its own warrants which we are not privy to at all.

It's interesting that we don't get to see the actual search warrant which would comprehensively explain the probable cause. We saw that early on with the Guyger/Jean case.

Well, the FBI had a week's head start with the letter.
The letter arrived on 1/22.
AFAICT, there was approximately zero media coverage of that letter before the 1/29 attack story.

So we are being asked to believe their presence is a coincidence.

Maybe they purchased the bleach and the rope and provided them to Jussie that night so he could pull off the hoax without having to buy those items himself?

IOW, the brothers were there to deliver the hoax accessories.

But then we still have the letter to deal with...

Has anyone googled the address of the two brothers, to find out how far away exactly they live from the scene? Around the corner, or across town?

Is this a villiage-type neighborhood where a bunch of actors live? Having a few night owls out who live on the same block is certainly plausible

Maybe. This is certainly the era of fake noose.

Awfully risky to involve two other people to deliver common household items on a heavily videoed and deserted street

For me, it only made sense if the two bros had a beef with Jussie or were trying to do some scam on Jussie. If it was Jussie's plan the bros didn't even need to be there walking around on the streets. So why include them?

Jussie ain’t the smartest tool in the shed

I can only see their involvement needed if things were more complex. As in, the letter was step one, the attack step two, and another phase in the works. Can't picture them hustling Smollett unless they were aware of the presumed hoax and were threatening to shake him down?

Not if police were never supposed to be called.

If the police were never supposed to be called, why didn't he just buy the stuff himself? Buy it himself, slap his own chaffs and douse himself in bleach in the comfort of his living room, then jog on down to his mate's and complain about the nasty Trump supporters.

smollett doesnt think so

the cpd seems to think they were the ones in the video

but it does seem at least to some posters here that we're not supposed to question why the police say they gave new evidence and let them leave

but hey as FMW say "magic scooters"
I think "magic scooter" is FMW's attempt at a wookie defense. It was put forward as a joke explaining the broken rib. But somehow FMW decided the line to take is, "magic scooter is a stupid idea, therefore Smollett is telling the truth."

Part of the problem is that for some of our resident progressives, there's no room for humor in this narrative. All joking is forbidden. Anyone who violates this injunction is objectively racist.

Reminds me of the old chestnut:

Q: How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?

A: That's not funny!

---

Actually, that might be a bit of fun.

Q: How many Empire cast members does it take to get a tuna sandwich?

A: Three. One to order the sandwich, one to carry the noose and the bleach, and one to hack all the cameras.

Needed a plausible scenario. Subway worker seeing him come in unbleached and providing a reason for walking a deserted street at 2AM during a polar vortex. How else could you have no witnesses on a Chicago street?

Just set the bottle and rope on the steps and keep on walking.

Jussie can pick them up when he gets there.

Far simpler to hand them to him in a towel or something at the gym. Keeps accomplices from being easily placed at the scene

Perhaps it was the Subway workers who did it...
