Are you new to forums? Since when did a topic require an interminable news feed to sustain it? Most topics are set in the OP and discussed from that point onwards, and tend to do very well thank you despite the lack of mainstream media intervention.

Of course, I'm being facetious, I know you understand this, you're just one of the 'usual suspects' who can't abide it when the leftist narrative fails and instead of discussing the topic or, shock horror, ignoring the thread, feel the need to attack posters for having the audacity to discuss a topic on a debating forum.

I heard this but I don't know where it came from. It doesn't make any sense to me. Is the claim that there is CCTV of Smollett walking 400 yards in 30 minutes? Either he was inching along at the speed of a tortoise (strange behaviour at the best of times, more so when it's 20 below) or he was walking in circles for two miles before arriving at his friend's house.
 
I believe some of the same reports that mentioned a 60 second window also mentioned that Smollet was seen before that window with no signs of the attack and immediately after with the noose around his neck and salt on his clothes.

So either, the reports filtered through media in general are to be taken with a grain of road salt: in which case the 60 second window may or may not be the case.

For this to be a hoax, Smollett would have to have planned it in detail well ahead of leaving the subway, and specifically planned to throw himself on the ground and put the noose around his neck in the camera blank spot. Which would have required him to plan the walk and the timing pretty precisely. Given I believe that he had been out of town until just that night, it would have to have been planned fairly long in advance to fly into a city and then do his bit in a blank camera spot. This would eliminate a tryst gone wrong, a scooter accident and the majority of counter theories made here. Since he didn't want to call the police and his neighbor did, then either his neighbor was a part of the hoax, OR, his preplanning extended to using reverse psychology to make his neighbor do the reporting.

While all of that is certainly possible, it would make this a very elaborately plotted hoax.

All that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. No way can road salt on your clothes be picked up by on CCTV, and I very much doubt a length of thin rope can either. Check out the quality of the footage of those two tramps to see what I mean, it's difficult to identify them as human let alone view the stains on their jackets. I don't know where any of this came from but I don't believe a word of it.

Exactly, he went from low quality external video, to a high def camera inside an apartment building.

Cameras and storage have both gotten cheaper, so there is likely to be a lot of variation in the quality of footage. That said, this is one of few points where we probably agree on the general idea.

News reports have said that Smollett had a broken rib, that was false. I don't put a lot of stock in news reports of what they heard from the police. Especially without direct quotes or official statements. I put even less stock in thirdhand accounts of supposed leaks from the police.

What the police have said officially is that if the evidence shows this was a hoax, they'll pursue punishing it as one. Phone records aren't too hard to get directly from the phone company. So if Smollett were lying about the phone call, it will come out and he would be prosecuted. Just hold your horses.

So there is a 60 second period (not caught on camera) in which he acquires the rope and the salt residue. That 60 second period has got to be when the attack happens, or when he gets the rope and puts it on his neck. He can't go somewhere to buy or get the rope... it has to come from a pocket or it was previously stashed on the street.

TMZ which previously reported a broken rib is not too reliable about the details.
 
Hold up. Why is there all this investigation into video? Wouldn't Smollett just the police 'I was attacked here' and we go to relevant video? Is he claiming amnesia or something?
