457 days until 2,300 days - Daniel 8:14

It amazes me how theists can apparently choose what god to believe in and what sect to worship in as if they’re merely choosing what clothing to wear for the day. A whole god/sect can be dismissed merely because “a couple of representatives were narrow minded and full of themselves” - amazing!.

If there was an actual and correct god and a correct religious sect through which to worship it, then wouldn't it be reasonable to expect that such a god would make its own existence and the correct sect obvious? Especially when getting the god and/or sect wrong would have such dire consequences if that god were true. Why do we get thousands of gods and thousands of sects? Could it possibly be it’s because there are no correct gods or sects as they’re all wrong (DOH!)?

:wackylaugh:

Even in my ignorant delusions then, I considered dogmatism a bad sign.
And even with my ignorant delusions now, it's still a bad sign.

Thank Goodness there isn't a Correct God!

Thank god there isn't a god at all ;)

Useful warning. I did not get any malware from just looking at the web site but there's really nothing useful on it anyway, so I'd advise just not bothering with it anyway. You never know what might jump out at you.

Wait. Elwin is making money off of internet pop up porn adverts? And he is saying that we're the "filthy ones?"

So he's just another hypocritical religious zealot who wants to see everyone else suffer and die but is willing to make money off of his "followers" (if any) in the meantime.

Probably just clicked on some naughty sites himself.

We have entered into the "age to come" foretold by Jesus in Mark 10:30.

Thought you might have more to say about this glorious, joyous, new “age to come” than what you have posted so far since this is truly a milestone in the history of this planet. Guess you’re just too giddy to post right now or something. We’ll try to be patient.

I saw the irony of that myself but I think that it is more likely that Elwin's site got hacked.

Ah, gotcha. Makes more sense and I suppose it's the fairest presumption to make...
This is assuming that Elwin's site is actually the source of the malware.

I frequently find myself inadvertently being redirected to porn sites even though I have no interest in porn (I mostly like to browse electronic web sites). But since it becomes a part of my browser history, I find often myself plagued with ads for porn.

I came to this thread expecting a countdown and instead got a countdown to a countdown. And porn.

What does the bible have to say about recursion? Let me read to to you from Fractals, verses 1 to 1/n+1n....

A happy new year to you all, and bless the Cheesemakers, especially King Island Dairy.

(ETA - any mathematicians reading this post please ignore any liberties taken and just squint a bit with a wry smile)

Oh, and pass the Merlot, please.

Just for fun I looked at the source code html but, other than being a mess, I decided I don't know enough to see if there's been any code injections or obvious webservers to point out.

All I know is that I run Linux with a hosts file compiled by MPVS and that by itself slays about 90+% of adverts -- harmful or otherwise -- as well as making it less likely that I'd get hit with some sort of windows virus/worm/trojan/etc.

I did get a full-screen popup (blank) when I visited but I had no idea it was a porn ad and while I was reading the code behind the page, the page was running in my browser and it actually caused my browser to crash; whatever was running was that unstable.

All in all, not worth it, even to mock.

I always, always suggest at least a good hosts file because it is system-agnostic and is only a simple text file, meaning there is no running code or chance that the file itself is harmful.
